because if all u did was swap a battery out and all of a sudden your radio is not working it could be the battery is bad or a terminal came loose or something like that. baby steps.... then if this doesnt work follow the advice of previous poster. #7 · Feb 21, 2005 Re: Radio not working after battery replace. (jaxkewl) lol Battery terminals are tight. battery has full voltage. #8 · Feb 21, 2005 Re: Radio not working after battery replace. (K20EGsus) Are there any fuses on the back of the actual radio unit? Image #9 · Feb 22, 2005 Re: Radio not working after battery replace. Disconnected battery to hardwire Phatbox and now there appears to be no power to the radio...I don't even get a "Safe" or anything on the screen of the HU. Checked fuses and all are good. Battery is connected because I was just on the road for 2 hours driving to Michigan. Image Any advice... #11 · Oct 22, 2005 Re: Radio not working after battery replace. (glasskopf)

there is a fuse on the back. take the head unit out, pull the fuse on the back, let it sit for a minute or two, put it back in, and test. #12 · Oct 22, 2005 Re: Radio not working after battery replace. (bigmak) open your driver's door, open the fuse panel, pull fuse #42, leave it out for about 20-30 seconds....put it back in and see if that helps. It will reset your radio. The most common one to blow is the small 10 amp in the back of the battery, and if it gets locked in safe mode you have to leave the radio on for 1 hour so it can unlock itself. the ignition does not have to be on but the key has to be in the ignition. #14 · Oct 22, 2005 Re: Radio not working after battery replace. Understood, but in my repeated experience with it, when you replace the battery, it does not blow a fuse, but trips something in the radio's circuts that needs to be reset via the pull and replace of fuse #42. It's usually not blown, just pull it out and put it back in. Mike #15 · Oct 22, 2005 Re: Radio not working after battery replace. (mikeyworks) Pull the radio out, unplug the harness from the back, let it sit for a sec and then plug it back in. #16 · Oct 22, 2005 Re: Radio not working after battery replace. (mk2jettabro) if you are still under warranty take it in any they will replaced the radio. the premium 6 has saftware problems and dies sometimes. I believe its the premium 6, the double din radio. #17 · Dec 11, 2021 Just an update for everyone fixed mine Speedometer Odometer Automotive lighting Tachometer Gauge , I had same issue after dag gearbox failed on mine and battery went flat, used jump starter a few times, I had a message on trip computer TRA so I thought it was warning for transmission, after gearbox rebuilt finally car back on road and I noticed no power In radion all fuses fine, fuse at back of radio wad also fine, I noticed my rear demister wad coming on only for 1 second, interior map reading light won't come on until ignition was on. I thought low voltage and jump start has damaged ecu or something else, pulled radio out few times checked voltage there was 12v... but guess what, plugged VCDS in and just went to Applications accidentally and noticed transport mode option was enabled so I just pressed on disable transport mode and gues what Radio back on along with everything back to normal.
