mwhorley M I tried searching for this but got no joy - please can someone advise me of the correct oil for the mk5 1.6FSI engine ? Warning light has just come on so guess I need a litre in there until it's next service. Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions #2 · Dec 3, 2007 If you're running on a Longlife service regime top up with an oil meeting VW spec 504.00 , 503.00. such as Castrol Edge 5W-30. If its on a Time/Distance service regime an oil meeting VW spec of at least 501.01 ,502.00. I'd just use the Castrol Edge 5W-30 for the top up as it meets both specs. #3 · Dec 3, 2007 Thanks for that - I found some fuchs xtr 5w-30 that i used in my RX8 in the garage....would that be ok for just top up purpoes ?
