Who We’re Looking For

We ideally seek candidates with a Master’s degree in one of the following fields:

• Economics
• Food Science
• Agricultural Engineering

A solid understanding of the food chain is essential for all roles.

Keys Skills and Qualities

We value candidates who are:

• Organised and detail-oriented
• Excellent communicators, both written and verbal
• Analytical thinkers with problem solving skills

You should also possess:

• Knowledge of basic economic theory
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and internet research tools
• Fluency in written and spoken English

Most of our team is based in France, working from our head office in Ferney-Voltaire.

Internships and Freelance opportunities at Gira

Internships/Stages for final year students (ref G-INTERN)

Gira is interested in receiving applications for internships from outgoing, conscientious final-year masters students preferably with some knowledge of the food industry and with excellent numerical and writing skills. Complete fluency in English is necessary and at least one other European language, other than French, would be of interest (fluent Spanish and/or Italian would be an advantage).

As an intern with Gira, you will learn both market research and analytical skills and you will obtain a good understanding of how key parts of the global food chain work. There is the possibility of an offer of full-time employment following the internship for the right candidate. The place of work will be Ferney-Voltaire.

Freelance researchers and consultants (ref G20-FRC/EN+)

We are always interested in hearing from qualified freelance researchers and consultants with good interviewing and report-writing skills preferably with experience in the food and drink markets of one or more of the major EU countries and who speak the language of that country really fluently. We offer considerable flexibility to freelancers who work with us, together with real back-up and support from our heads-of-project, and the possibility of working from home.
