kone K Bear with me, having trouble grasping this. Daughter wants remote start in her S w/ H key. Was quoted $220-299 for install. OK, but they mentioned losing a key and I've read that here. Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions #2 · Nov 16, 2015 The reason why you'd lad a key is because it be put into a box that you inset the key into that makes contact with the box's metal contacts that tells the car that it has authorization to start the car. Much like NFC tags work it sense that the key is present telling the car you can start it. The eBay keys are something to be wary of. Just remember you get what you pay for. It is combined with a remote starter to "bypass" the immobilizer while the vehicle is remote started and also incorporates convenience features such as door locks control and statuses needed for such an installation. Can this be done on a 2016 Corolla with Push Button start? Also does this disable the immobilizer at all times or only when triggering the remote start? Lastly, if you remote start the vehicle, will the car shut off when opening the door, requiring you to restart it, or can you just get in and drive away? Thanks again.
