Patronen sind gut; die Bestellseite jedoch etwas verwirrend. Mir war anfangs nicht klar, wieviel Stück jeweils in der Packung sind.

F Fabrizio D. Ziemlich teuer, aber wird auch nur im Notfall benötigt.

Für mich sind die Ersatzpatronen einfach ein bisschen zu teuer. Ich überprüfe meine Sicherheitsausrüstung gerne regelmäßig, aber für EUR 5,-- pro Auslösung genüge ich mich bisher immer damit den Restube einfach aufzublasen, um ihn auf Dichtigkeit zu prüfen.

All FAQs How many times can a CO2 cartridge be used?

A CO2 cartridge can be used to trigger the Safety Buoy once. Afterwards, the empty CO2 cartridge must be removed, and a new original RESTUBE CO2 cartridge must be inserted. This is simple, and only takes a few steps. You can view an instruction video here: https://restube.com/blogs/news/how-to-pack-restube-care-and-maintain-correctly You can also blow up the Safety Buoy manually using the mouth valve. This is a practical option if you are using the Safety Buoy as a swim buoy, or for snorkeling. How do I change the CO2 cartridges?

How to get the safety buoy ready for use again is explained in detail in the instructions as well as printed on the buoy and bag. Attention: RESTUBE only guarantees its functionality when used with the original RESTUBE CO2 cartridges.

First any contamination (e.g. sand) must be removed from the Safety Buoy, the trigger and the CO2 cartridge. Then the empty CO2 cartridge is unscrewed from the trigger and disposed of in the recycling center. Then fold in the release lever. Check the new CO2 cartridge for damage before screwing it in and make sure that the puncture cap is closed. Then screw it firmly into the release mechanism.

Can I take RESTUBE Safety Buoy on the plane?

Yes, the Safety Buoy may be taken on a plane. Depending on the version, original RESTUBE CO2 cartridges contain 16g or 10.9g CO2 and are under pressure. They are considered a hazardous material in air transport. However, according to the IATA and LBA, passengers may take up to two CO2 cartridges with them in combination with the Safety Buoy. Register RESTUBE CO2 cartridges promptly before your trip begins by phone with the airline and carry a written confirmation from the airline (email) and the green flyer during your trip. Can I use other cartridges such as the bicycle pump cartridges as replacements?

No. Only our RESTUBE cartridges are checked for exactly 10.9g or 16g filling quantity and are compatible with the trigger and have a special alloy for salt water resistance. If other cartridges are used, the Safety Buoy cannot be guaranteed to function properly.

Do I need a green safety clip with the replacement cartridges?

The green clip was used on the older Restube versions to make it visible that a new CO2 cartridge had been screwed in. When the Restube was triggered, the clip fell off and into the water, revealing a red spot. The clip only had an indicative character and did not have a technical function. The absence therefore does not affect the function of your Restube. If you have an older Restube model and do not want to do without the clip, we can send you one. For this we need your address.

The new Restube models beach, active & extreme (lifeguard from 2022) have a new, modern display system, which works completely without a clip that drops into the water. We are working hard on Restube lifeguard, automatic and pfd by Restube to be able to offer these products without a clip. The perfect function is important to us, the development with all the necessary long-term tests can still take over a year here.
