We are doing a review of CADA C61024 which is brick built version of Toyota AE86 Sprinter Trueno made famous by street racing manga and anime Initial D. It was driven by Takumi Fujiwara to deliver tofu on the day and race during the night. Rarely for Chinese clone brick makers to source for proper IP for their product. CADA brand not only had license from car manufacturer for the Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT-APEX (AE86), it also obtained approval from Kodansha so it could made reference to the Initial D anime. Salute to CADA aka Double Eagle for doing the right thing. At this point of writing there are three makers that released the AE86, with CADA the only one that clinched dual IP while Xinyu (Happy Build) had license from Toyota. Open Box of CADA C61024 Toyota AE86 Hachi-Roku

The box had the Initial D 頭文字D logo and the anime character Takumi Fujiwara to grace the cover. The part counts are 1324 pieces with recommended age of 8 and above. Seeing the wording 藤原とうふ店 on the car model brings lots of smile on our faces. Finally we don’t have print our sticker to make the anime version of AE86.

You could build the Project D version of the AE86. This is after Takumi had blown the engine and made the upgrade.

There are two inner boxes with the illustration by Shuichi Shigeno, the author of Initial D. We can’t bear to throw away the boxes.

You could upgrade the car to RC version by buying extra components such as power functions etc.

High quality stickers with reference to the anime. The characters 藤原とうふ店 are what we really after. Previously CADA released C61019 back in 2020 that is licensed by Toyota but no IP from Kodansha hence no reference could be made to the anime. When you order CADA C61024 from Aliexpress make sure it’s the right version with Kodansha IP.

The numbered bags are standard feature for clone bricks makers these days.

Building CADA C61024 Takumi Fujiwara’s AE86

The structure is a mix of regular bricks and technic parts.

Compare to previous C61019 version, C61024 had made notable upgrade to include the pop-up headlights.

Just left with stickers to make it Takumi Fujiwara’s AE86. You may leave out the stickers but why would you do that?

There are extra parts to modify the car to Project D version.

Takumi Fujiwara’s AE86 with all the stickers on.

The car is registered in Gunma Prefecture. The plate numbers shall be 13-954, not sure why the change here.

The characters 藤原とうふ店 made the CADA version stands out among the other offerings.

Summary of CADA C61024 Initial D Toyota AE86 Trueno

This set shall appeal to the fans of Initial D who wanted to see their favorite car in brick version. CADA had maintained high quality for their parts. The issue is the price is on the high side for Chinese bricks due to the dual licensing from Toyota and Kodansha. You could find CADA C61024 from Aliexpress.
