Mission:

To share our passion for surf travel and progression by providing the platform to reach the next level while growing and supporting the Rincón Surf School Family.

History:

The Rincón Surf School first opened its doors in 1999, making us the longest-running surf school in Rincón. The surf school was acquired in August 2012 by the principals of SASS Global Travel, a small family-owned action sports and adventure travel company with a passion for providing high-end surf and snow experiences. SASS Global Travel previously operated custom surf trips to Rincón prior to the acquisition of the Rincón Surf School and took the opportunity to move their world headquarters from its New Hampshire origins here to Puerto Rico. Today, the surf school is managed by Surf School Director and Head Concierge Alex Dalponte, Managing Director Travis Moore and other members of the SASS Global Travel management team. The Rincón Surf School’s stellar reputation can be attributed to a world-class coaching and guiding staff led by a committed team of experienced, safety-conscious English-speaking coaches that collectively represent the best professional surf instructors in Rincón.

Welcome to the Rincón Surf School! Whether this is your first time surfing or you’ve been at it for a while, you’ll find everything from fun coaching for beginners to dawn patrol packages and advanced surf guiding for those looking to explore new breaks. It is my goal to make sure that every aspect of your time with us exceeds your expectations. We pride ourselves in creating a fun platform for progression built on a foundation of education and committed coaching that aims to cultivate a love of the sport for years to come. Our success is rooted in my drive to make sure that the entire experience is one that leaves you with a sense of accomplishment and a smile on your face.

Flying to Puerto Rico

You have a two primary options to reach Puerto Rico:

We highly recommend that visitors (especially those flying from the US East Coast) utilize the Aguadilla Rafael Hernández Airport (BQN). It is only 20 minutes from Rincón and serviced daily by JetBlue, United and Spirit Airlines.

If you’re on a tighter budget or flying from the US West coast, you may choose to use the much larger San Juan International Airport (SJU) — but it requires that you drive approximately 2.5 hours to Rincón from metropolitan San Juan.
