at least 1 Rồng vàng (translated to English: Golden Dragon) is a Vietnamese game show which is an unlicensed version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire? in Vietnam, based on the Thai version. Hosted by Chánh Tín (2003 - 2004), Thành Lộc (2004 - 2005) and Hữu Luân (2006-2007). The main goal of the game was to win 50,000,000₫ (formerly 28,000,000₫) by answering 15 multiple-choice questions correctly (formerly 16 questions). The show is broadcasted on HTV7 every Sunday at 19:00 (formerly 16:00) and rebroadcasted on HTV9 (time unknown).

The show was popular from 2003 to 2005. However, the show ended on June 10, 2007, possibly due to the popularity of Ai là triệu phú (which is the licensed WWTBAM version in Vietnam and aired on VTV3), and the Top Prize of the show, by this time, was twice smaller than Ai Là Triệu Phú.

Graphics and Soundtracks[]

Similar to the Thai version, the question and answers graphic is round, not rhombus, and the answers are not "A, B, C, D", but "1, 2, 3, 4". However in earlier years the question and answers graphic is somewhat rhombus but still have the same color. In 2007 the show upgraded to the new graphic based on The Champion version in Thailand. It also used a music and sounds reminding us of the original Millionaire soundtrack.

From 2003 to 2004, the Fastest Finger First question graphic was arranged vertically at the left side instead of regular 3 rows horizontal like all international versions of WWTBAM. When Hữu Luân hosted the show since 2005, the Fastest Finger First question graphic was arranged to the regular 3 rows horizontal.

Studio[]

Originally, the studio from 2003 to 2006 was similar to the original Thai version (although the studio had some modifications), but on 2007, the studio upgraded to a new one that looks like The Champion version. Similar to the Thai version, the show used laptops as the monitor for FFF Row, host and contestant.

Fastest Finger First[]

  • Similar to the Thai version and the eighth season of Ai Là Triệu Phú, the show played 6-player Fastest Finger First format. However, the typical result list have no time result shown, and the FFF winner was shown by the host.

Lifelines[]

There are 3 lifelines:

  • Double Dip (Trả lời hai lần)
  • Help of Audience Members (Nhờ người thân trợ giúp) (Works like the Phone-a-Friend in Quiz $ Millionaire, except there are only 1 or 2 people answering, it is the friend of contestant to choose to bring into the show, and there are 30 seconds to help the contestant)
  • Switch the Question (Đổi câu hỏi)

Seasons[]

  • Season 1 (May 25, 2003 - 2004)
  • Season 2 (2004 - 2005)
  • Season 3 (2006)
  • Season 4 (2006 - 2007)

Money Trees[]

Failing a level will result in the winnings being cut by half (in season 3, failing a tier 1 level results the winnings cut by half, failing a tier 2 level results the winnings reduced by 40%, failing a tier 3 level and the Top Prize question results the winnings reduced by 30%).

Unlike other WWTBAM versions, the money tree was shown with the point value instead of money value (later the money tree on Ai Là Triệu Phú was similar to the show), which is a thousandth of the VND price value.

From 2003 to 2004, the displayed value for each question will be added to the contestant's winnings. But otherwise, the game is same.

From 2003 to 2006, the show using word "Points" (Điểm) as the money symbol, but it was dropped in 2007. In serveral episodes of the 2005 season, the money ladder isn't counted as points anymore, instead it is shown with the monetary value and word "Points" (Điểm) was replaced by "Đồng" (which was Vietnamese Dong)
