I bought a vw golf gti mk5 2008 on sunday evening but im having a issue with the key/cluster. The key is fully electronic with 3 buttons, it unlocks/locks the car and the car starts and drives like normal but on the cluster it shows the word 'SAFE' where the mileage should be displayed. And do not try to rectify comm fault between instrument panel and radio and navigation. You will get them locked then. Sep 21, 2016 #9 A

At least Audio and Navigation is from one car, IPC and ECU and keys from another. Programming of immo, VIN etc. is not done correctly. Is it "immo off" for ECU, You can check if You disconnect IPC and try to start engine. If it starts and works without instruments, You have "immo off" programmed ECU. To make everything correct, You need someone with proper equipment and knowledge to reprogram all affected modules. It is possible, that some modules You'll have to replace. I can't say anything more exactly just by autoscan printout You posted. Sep 21, 2016 #14 A

I can't give any more further suggestions without having Your car at my workshop. Any attempt to reprogram something in incorrect way may turn Your car into vegetable. I can't know what is done before and so I can't say what have to be repaired and how. Nowadays a lot of methods are used to cheat Immo systems. Each case is individual. Sep 21, 2016 #19
