Shimano Chain CN-HG701-11 - recommended for Ultegra, XT and STEPS

The Shimano 11-speed chain CN-HG701-11 is a directional, high-quality HG-X11 chain that fits Ultegra and XT groupsets perfectly. Thanks to newly dimensioned links, the 138-link version can also be used for e-bikes. CN-HG701-11 chains convince with efficiency, low maintenance and smooth shifting performance, which is not least due to the SIL-TEC surface coating. This is the classic version with chain rivet pin.

Technology:

HG-X11 HG-X11 chains from Shimano are 11-speed chains with directional binding. The outside has been optimised for shifting the chainring, the inside for shifting the cassette. This makes for smoother gear changes and higher drivetrain performance overall. Since correct assembly is crucial, Shimano has marked the sides of the chain. SIL-TEC SIL-TEC is a fluorine particle-based surface coating from Shimano. It results in smoother, lower friction operation and less contamination. This makes maintenance easier, reduces wear and extends the service life of SIL-TEC components.

Ist bei mir als Serienausstattung am EMTB. Hat jetzt mehr als 3500 km gesehen und ist immer noch lehrenhaltig. Habe die Ersatzkette seit Monaten hier liegen, weil ich mit dem Ableben der alten Kette rechne. Bisher weigert sie sich standhaft.

Top Kette! Fahre nur noch diese, da sie um einiges länger hält als die günstige 105er Kette. Der Mehrpreis lohnt sich hier also auf jeden Fall! Greife immer auf die Variante mit Nietstift zurück. Ein Kettenschloss ist für meine Verwendung unnötig.

Habe die Kette nun nach 6.000 Rennrad-Kilometern getauscht. Die Rohloff-Lehre fiel noch nicht ganz durch (0,075). Fahre am RR eine Kompaktkurbel 34/52 sowie ein Ritzel 12-32, Die entstehenden Kräfte im 1. Gang erträgt die Kette sehr lang! Kette wurde nach (fast) jeder Fahrt gesäubert und gepflegt. Preis-/ Leistung unerreicht! Habe die gleiche Kette wieder montiert und werde mir wohl demnächst wieder eine auf Reserve legen! Top Produkt wie von Shimano gewohnt!

Die erste Kette bin ich bei winterlichen Bedingungen mit einer 11-fach Ultegra Kassette (11-23) und 9-fach XT Kurbel (44-32-22) gefahren. Diese hat etwa nur 1800 km gehalten. Die Kette ließ sich sehr gut schalten. Die zweite Kette ist jetzt seit Mitte April 2018 und etwa 2400 km drauf und hat noch Guthaben für weitere 400 km bis 600 km. Vor knapp 1200 km habe ich Anfang Mai 2018 auf die XT Trekkingkurbel (FC-T8000 48-36-26) umgebaut. Der Vorteil hierbei ist, dass ich zwei Ritzel größer und damit eine günstigere, wie auch effizientere (weniger Reibung) Kettenlinie fahren kann. Wie erwartet wirkt sich das auch positiv auf die Haltbarkeit aus. Ich pflege den Antrieb nach jeder Fahrt (Meistens genügen ein trockener Lappen und das gute Rohloff Kettenöl).

Meiner Meinung nach die Beste, was Preis/Leistung betrifft. Die letzte bin ich fast 6000km gefahren und der Wechsel erfolgte eher aus Vorsicht, denn aus Notwendigkeit. Läuft geräuscharm, schaltet präzise... ein Sorglos-Teil!
