The silo is the building where crops are stored, including berries, fruit and peanuts. It is already standing at the start of the game, but must be repaired during the tutorial to become usable.

Appearance

The appearance of the silo changes as the player upgrades it. Its final appearance is displayed when the silo can store at least 300 items.

Upgrading

The silo can initially hold 50 items. Upgrading it increases its capacity:

• by 25 spaces from 50 to 1,000
• by 50 spaces from 1,000 upwards without limit

Each upgrade requires the same number of nails, screws and wood panels but the number of items required increases by 1 with each upgrade (see the table below).

Players can also calculate the number of each silo upgrade item (N) for each silo capacity (C) from formulas:

For example, from the table, if you would like to upgrade silo capacity from 275 to 300, you need to use 10 nails, 10 screws, and 10 wood panels.

The calculation shows as follow: C = 300 = 25 (N+2) --> 12 = N+2 --> N = 10

Strategy tips

• The silo is only used to store crops. There are more than 40 different types of crops. If you want to keep at least 30 of each at all times your silo needs to be able to hold more than 1,200 items. You also need to keep some room for more, as boat orders can ask for great quantities of one crop.

Did you know?

• As with Experience and Reputation, your silo (as well as your barn and tackle box) are often referred to by their level. The level of your silo is the number of each tool needed for your next upgrade. For example: You start the game with a level 1 silo which has a capacity of 50. A level 39 silo has a capacity of 1,000, after which future upgrades increase the capacity by 50. A level 241 silo would have a capacity of 11,100.
