7 Installation Instructions for the CP 5412 (A2) 2 Hardware and System Requirements 2.1 Hardware Requirements Computer Hardware Requirements This product can be used on SIMATIC programming devices (PGs) and AT-compatible PCs. For further information, please read the Readme.txt file in the main menu of the CD-ROM. The CP 5412 (A2) is a card for IBM-AT-compatible PCs/PGs and requires a 16-bit wide ISA slot. When installing the module, make sure that you take the usual precautions to avoid damage caused by electrostatic discharge (ESD). Opening the PC/programming device and inserting/removing the module is permitted only when the power supply is disconnected. Before installing the module, please read the section in the manual for your PC/programming device titled Installing Modules or similar and follow the instructions there. 8 Copyright by SIEMENS AG

8 Installation Instructions for the CP 5412 (A2) 2.2 System Requirements General Requirements for Operating the CP Operating System You require Windows 95 or Windows NT version 4.0 as the operating system. Software You require one of the following software packages: DP-5412 under Windows 95 DP-5412 under Windows NT 4.0 FMS-5412 under Windows 95 FMS-5412 under Windows NT 4.0 S under Windows 95 S under Windows NT 4.0 PG-5412 under Windows 95 PG-5412 under Windows NT 4.0 CP 5412 (A2) You require a CP 5412 (A2) SIMATIC NET communications processor for operation. Before plugging in the CP 5412 (A2) module, please set the I/O range proposed by the installation program. If you are installing several modules, make sure that a different I/O range is set on each CP. Copyright by SIEMENS AG 9

9 Installation Instructions for the CP 5412 (A2) I/O Range Each CP 5412 (A2) occupies four contiguous addresses in the I/O address area starting at a selectable base address. The following base addresses (hex) are available: 240, 244, 248, 24C, 280, 284, 288, 28C, 300, 304, 308, 30C, 390, 394, 398, 39C The Plug-and-Play functions of Windows 95 will automatically select a free I/O range. You should therefore first install the software in order to obtain a free I/O range. You then set this range on the CP 5412 (A2) before installing it. Under Windows NT, please make sure that the I/O ranges you select are not used for any other purpose in your system. Interrupt Each CP 5412 (A2) requires one interrupt for operation. This can be set in the software and can be selected from among the following values: IRQ 5, IRQ 10, IRQ 11, IRQ 12, IRQ 15. The Plug-and-Play functions of Windows 95 automatically select one of the interrupts listed above. Under Windows NT, make sure that the interrupt you select is not used already by other components in your system. Several CPs on one computer can share one interrupt. The first CP (without the entry SubBoard ) occupies the interrupt on the computer. The following CPs (with the entry SubBoard ) share the interrupt of the first CP. Dual-Port RAM Address Area Each CP 5412 (A2) occupies a memory area of 16 Kbytes during operation. The range position is set in the configuration program. 10 Copyright by SIEMENS AG

10 Installation Instructions for the CP 5412 (A2) Under Windows 95 The Plug-and-Play functions of Windows 95 automatically select a suitable DPRAM memory area. On some computer models with a memory configuration greater than 16 Mbytes, access to the ISA bus is only possible in areas D0000-DFFFF or E0000-EFFFF. You may have to change settings in the BIOS of your computer. For more information, read the BIOS description of your computer. If you use a memory management program, for example EMM386, you must inform the management program of the memory area you are using. With EMM386, for example, you would either add the following line to the CONFIG.SYS file Device=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE X=D000-DFFF or modify the line accordingly if it already exists. For further options, please refer to your operating system manual and the memory manager you are using. Under Windows NT Make sure that the memory area you select is not used by any other component in your system (display in Windows NT diagnostics). On some computer models with a memory configuration greater than 16 Mbytes, access to the ISA bus is only possible in areas D0000-DFFFF or E0000-EFFFF. You may have to change settings in the BIOS of your computer. For more information, read the BIOS description of your computer. Space Required on the Hard Disk During installation, the space required by the software package is displayed and the destination drive is checked to make sure there is sufficient space. COM PROFIBUS; Software Requirements Note To use the COM PROFIBUS configuration program, you require the following: Necessary Resources Specification Operating system Windows 95 or Windows NT Memory Free space on hard disk at least 8 Mbytes at least 10 Mbytes Type of processor at least The COM PROFIBUS configuration program is shipped on the SIMATIC NET CD in German and English. The COM PROFIBUS configuration program is installed automatically along with the DP-5412 package or with the FMS-5412 package. 12 Installation Instructions for the CP 5412 (A2) 3 Key Diskette and License Key Diskette Each product is supplied with a red key diskette (authorization diskette). This contains a license that is required to operate the product. This diskette is not read-only (see the position of the slide). Do not change the position of the write-protection slide! The license on the key diskette cannot be copied using disk copy functions. Keep this diskette in a safe place. Installing the License During installation, this license is transferred to your hard disk (default setting in the check box during installation). It is not possible to operate the product without the license. Please do not interrupt the transfer since the license could otherwise be lost. The key diskette cannot be copied. Location on Hard Disk The license is saved in the hidden directory \ax nf zz on the drive on which you installed the product. Please do not delete the directory \ax nf zz or any files it contains. The license cannot be transferred to a compressed drive. If your drive is compressed, select an uncompressed drive when installing the license. Copyright by SIEMENS AG 13

13 Installation Instructions for the CP 5412 (A2) AUTHORSW.EXE You can also install the authorization later using the AUTHORSW.EXE program on the key diskette. Start the AUTHORSW.EXE program:. Select the license you require in drive A:\. Using the menu Authorization > Transfer, select the destination drive for the authorization. If you want to reformat your hard disk, you must first transfer the license back to the key diskette using the AUTHORSW.EXE program on the key diskette. If you do not do this, the license is lost and you can no longer use the product. If you uninstall the license, make sure that you use the diskette from which you installed the it. The authorization information cannot be transferred from the hard disk to a diskette or from a diskette to the hard disk by simply using normal copy functions. 14 Copyright by SIEMENS AG

14 Uninstallers and the Authorization Installation Instructions for the CP 5412 (A2) If you uninstall this product with an uninstaller, you may lose the authorization. Explanation: This warning applies to all users that installed the product with an uninstaller. Note If you want to uninstall the product using an uninstaller, you must first transfer your license back to the key diskette using the AUTHORSW.EXE program on the key diskette. If you do not, then depending on the uninstaller, the license for this product may be destroyed. If a license cannot be detected, a message is displayed on the screen at regular intervals. 15 Installation Instructions for the CP 5412 (A2) 4 Installing the Software 4.1 Preparations for Installation Preparations for Software Installation To prepare for software installation, follow the steps below: Read the README.TXT file on the CD-ROM. Read these installation instructions thoroughly. Installation from CD Installation from Diskette Under Windows 95 and Windows NT, you install the product using the SETUP.EXE installation program in the main directory on the CD. If you want to install the product on a computer without a CD-ROM drive, you must copy the required product from the CD to diskettes. 16 Installation Instructions for the CP 5412 (A2) 4.2 Notes on Installation Screen Savers When using a screen saver, remember that it also requires CPU time and can lead to overload of the system. Some screen savers do not release all the memory they use and this can lead to a continuous reduction of available memory. Virus Scanners Using virus scanners during normal operation can cause problems in hardware extensions. It is advisable to run virus tests only when CP-5412/Windows NT is not running. Following a virus test, the computer should be reset before any process link is activated. Important! Before you install this product, please make sure that no other application has been started that uses existing SIMATIC NET components. Installation on the Same Drive Entries in the Registry (under Windows NT) If software components that would normally be replaced during installation of this product are already in use, they are retained and not replaced without any error message being displayed. This means that the installation is incomplete and you may encounter problems later during operation. If you have already installed a SINEC or SIMATIC NET product, you should always install the new product on the same drive! Please note that to install this product successfully, you must log on as an administrator with Windows NT. Otherwise important entries in the Windows NT registry cannot be made. If you are not authorized to write to the registry, the installation will be incomplete. Copyright by SIEMENS AG 17

17 Installation Instructions for the CP 5412 (A2) 4.3 Starting Installation Starting the Software Installation The software can only be installed with the supplied installation program since part of the software is compressed on the CD. To install the software, follow the steps below: Under Windows 95 Start Windows 95 Insert the SIMATIC NET CD in the CD-ROM drive. Start the SETUP.EXE file on your CD. Follow the instructions of the installation program. Select the check boxes of the products you want to install in the Components dialog. Under Windows NT Start Windows NT Log on as administrator in your Windows NT system. Insert the SIMATIC NET CD in the CD-ROM drive. Start the SETUP.EXE file on your CD. Follow the instructions of the installation program. Select the check boxes of the products you want to install in the Components dialog. 18 Copyright by SIEMENS AG

If you have decided to install the authorization, you will be asked to insert the key diskette in the floppy drive. Continue the installation until it is completed. Then reboot your computer. Where to Go from Here After you have installed the software, you configure the module by installing a CP and assigning resources to it. You then configure the software by creating the access point for the application and assigning a module parameter set to the access point (see Chapter 6). 19 Installation Instructions for the CP 5412 (A2) 5 Hardware Configuration under Windows 95 and NT 4.0 Setting the PG/PC Interface With the Setting the PG/PC Interface configuration program, you can install the hardware and assign parameters to PROFIBUS communication connections. Preparations for Configuring Modules After you have installed the software on your hard disk, start the configuration program to configure the CP 5412 (if it was not started automatically). If you have already installed a CP 5412 (A2) in your computer under Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0 and only want to operate an additional software package, you can skip this section and move on to configuration of the software. 20 Copyright by SIEMENS AG

20 Installation Instructions for the CP 5412 (A2) Specifying the CP and the Identifier SubBoard The hardware list box displays CPs, some of which include the entry SubBoard. This entry relates to interrupts. Several CPs on one computer can share one interrupt. The first CP (without the entry SubBoard ) occupies the interrupt on the computer. The following CPs (with the entry SubBoard ) share the interrupt of the first CP. Copyright by SIEMENS AG 21

21 Installation Instructions for the CP 5412 (A2) Configuring Modules To configure the hardware, follow the steps below: Step Description 1 Turn on your computer and start Windows 95 or Windows NT Start the configuration program Setting the PG/PC Interface : With the Setup program if you selected the option Yes, start configuration program now in the last dialog of the Setup program. or Via the Simatic path (taskbar Start -> SIMATIC -> SIMATIC NET -> Setting the PG/PC Interface). or Using the Control Panel of Windows 95 (taskbar -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Setting the PG/PC Interface). 3 Click the Install... button 4 In the Selection list box, select CP 5412 (A2). If you have installed more than one CP, select the first CP without the label SubBoard and the other CPs with the label SubBoard. Note down the value. You require this later to set the I/O range on the CP 5412 (A2). Under Windows 95 only: The parameters Interrupt and Memory Range are selected automatically by the Plug and Play functions of the operating system and should only be modified manually by the user in exceptional situations in the system configuration (Control Panel ->Device Manager). 26 Installation Instructions for the CP 5412 (A2) 6.1 Definition of Terms Setting the PG/PC Interface With the Setting the PG/PC Interface configuration program, you can assign parameters to PROFIBUS communication connections. Access Point of Application The access point of the application is the name of a communication connection. Applications and libraries can access the module using the application point. Module Parameter Sets Module parameter sets contain all the Properties of a network access point. This includes the underlying hardware, the station parameters and the bus parameters. 27 Installation Instructions for the CP 5412 (A2) 6.2 Making the Assignments After hardware configuration, you automatically return to the Access Path tab in which you can configure the software. In this case, start at step 2 in the table below. Procedure for Software Configuration Step Description 1 Start the Setting the PG/PC Interface configuration program via the Start menu of the taskbar (Start>Simatic>SIMATIC NET > Setting the PG/PC Interface) or via the Control Panel (Start>Settings>Control Panel >Setting the PG/PC Interface) 2 Select an access point in the Access Point of Application list box, for example by clicking it with the mouse. Reaction: The assigned module parameter set is displayed in the list box. If you have not yet made an assignment, the entry None is activated. If you select <Add/Delete>, you can also create a new access point in the list box. 28 Copyright by SIEMENS AG

28 Installation Instructions for the CP 5412 (A2) If you are working with DP-5412 or with STEP 5: Use the defined access points CP_L2_X: where X = 1 to 4. The number X must be specified as the CP number in the reference.board structure element when you call dpn_init(). If you are working with FDL: You can use any access points. These must be entered as a parameter for the SCP_OPEN() call. If you are working with SAPI S7: You can select your own name for the access point. The access point must be specified in the program as the parameter cp_name of the s7_init command. If you are working with SAPI FMS: You can select your own name for the access point. If you are working with STEP 7: You must use, for example, the access point S7ONLINE to communicate with S7 programmable controllers. You can also use this name in your program. 3 Create the assignment of access point to module parameter set, for example by clicking the required module parameter set with the mouse in the Assigned Module Parameter Set list box. For the PROFIBUS module parameter set see Section For the MPI module parameter set see Section Configure the selected module parameter set using the Properties button. This opens a dialog in which you can assign parameters for the interface. 5 Repeat steps 2 and 3 for further access points. 6 Close the configuration program with OK to save your assignment, with Cancel to save no new assignments. 7 Shut down your computer and turn it off. 29 Installation Instructions for the CP 5412 (A2) If you do not assign an access point to a module, it is not possible to operate the module. The configuration program proposes the default device name as CP_L2_x: where x is the number of the CP = 1, 2,... If you use the DP programming interface, this default must not be modified since the DP libraries use this name as standard. In other words, CP_L2_x must be assigned to the CP5412A2(PROFIBUS). For more detailed information about configuration, refer to the help function of the called configuration program. Starting the Driver When you reboot your system, the protocols you have activated are started automatically. Note Check all the settings of your PG/PC interface. In particular, check the access point and the module parameter set, before continuing with the configuration. Properties of the Standard Parameter Sets The standard parameter sets for a module differ in terms of the underlying network type and consequently in the parameter assignment options they provide. Setting DP Bus Parameters The bus parameters for DP or for FMS is cannot be set using the Setting the PG/PC Interface configuration program. They are set during configuration with COM PROFIBUS and entered in the database. 30 Copyright by SIEMENS AG

30 Installation Instructions for the CP 5412 (A2) CP 5412A2 (PROFIBUS) Parameter Set CP 5412A2 (PROFIBUS) Parameter Set Using the standard parameter set CP 5412A2 (PROFIBUS) allows access to PROFIBUS networks for SAPI-S7, SAPI-FMS, DP applications or FDL applications and applications based on other protocols (for example STEP 7). In the Properties dialog, you can modify the PROFIBUS parameters. Under Station Parameters, the local parameters can be set: the local station number and a layer 4 timeout (irrelevant for the user). With the Not the only master active check box, you can decide how the module is included in the PROFIBUS ring. If this option is activated, the module can enter the active ring when the module is already turned on. If the module is to be the only master in the PROFIBUS network, this option must be deactivated. The network parameters apply to the entire PROFIBUS network and must match on all nodes. 31 Installation Instructions for the CP 5412 (A2) PROFIBUS Network Properties Tab The bus profiles contain predefined data records with bus parameters. Select the DP bus profile if you operate only S7 components on your PROFIBUS network. If you also have S5 components or third party components on the bus, you must select the Universal profile. Select the Standard bus profile for multi-master operation with fast bus nodes. If you set the User-defined bus profile, you can set the bus parameters after clicking the Bus Parameters... button. If you set one of the other bus profiles, you can only view the bus parameters. The following dialog appears after clicking Bus Parameters : 32 Copyright by SIEMENS AG

32 Installation Instructions for the CP 5412 (A2) FMS/DP Protocol Tab The communication connections via the FMS or DP communication protocol are specified in a database created with the COM PROFIBUS configuration tool (see Chapter 8). The database is specified in a module parameter set in the FMS/DP Protocol Properties page. Specify the name with the extension (ldb) and path of the DP or FMS database. You can search for the database using the Search button. A DP or FMS database must be specified to allow communication via the DP or FMS protocol! Copyright by SIEMENS AG 33

33 Installation Instructions for the CP 5412 (A2) S7 Protocol Tab Communication connections using the S7 communication protocol are specified with the COML S7 configuration tool (see Chapter 8). The database is selected in a module parameter set in the SAPI S7 Properties page. Specify the name with the extension (ldb) and path of the S7 database. If, for example, you select a new database in the Properties, you do not need to reboot your computer but must restart the CP In the dialog shown here, the CP was reset, restarted and then tested. 35 Installation Instructions for the CP 5412 (A2) CP 5412A2 (MPI) Parameter Set CP 5412A2 (MPI) Parameter Set The standard parameter set CP 5412A2 (MPI) allows access to MPI networks and to SAPI-S7. The network parameters are valid for the entire MPI network and must match on all nodes. The transmission rate in MPI networks can only be set to 187 Kbps and 1.5 Mbps. It is not possible to set the bus parameters. In the Properties dialog, you can modify the MPI bus parameters. Under Station Parameters, the local parameters can be set: the local station number and a layer 4 timeout (irrelevant for the user). With the Not the only master active check box, you can decide how the module is included in the PROFIBUS ring. If this option is activated, the module can enter the active ring when the module is already turned on (default for MPI networks). MPI Network Properties Dialog 36 Copyright by SIEMENS AG

38 Installation Instructions for the CP 5412 (A2) 7 Installing the CP 5412 DIL Switch To install the CP 5412 (A2), you require the values assigned for the input/output range of the CP 5412 (A2) during hardware configuration. Configuration Register Setting the DIL switch All the values required to operate the module are downloaded to the CP by the software from the configuration register. The configuration register occupies four addresses in the input/output range of the PC. The four addresses that are used are set using a DIL switch. The figure below shows the DIL switch on the CP 5412 (A2) module. Remember that the AUTOEXEC.BAT file can be empty or may not exist in a Windows NT system. In this case, you must make the required entries in the PATH environment variable yourself. Note COM PROFIBUS was installed along with DP-5412 or FMS Function of COM PROFIBUS You require the COM PROFIBUS V3.3 configuration software to configure the bus structure, the DP master and the DP slaves. Procedure Follow the steps below to create a binary database for DP or for FMS with the COM PROFIBUS program: Step Description 1 Start the COM PROFIBUS program from the Start menu (Start>Programs>Siemens COM PROFIBUS>COM PROFIBUS). 2 Start a new configuration with the menu command File > New. 3 For the DP protocol: Select the station type CP5412 (A2) as DP master in the Master-Host Selection dialog in COM PROFIBUS and specify the station address of the master. Confirm with OK. For the FMS protocol: Select the station type CP5412 (A2) as FMS master in the Master-Host Selection dialog in COM PROFIBUS and specify the station address of the master. (Enter the bus parameters with the menu command Configure > Bus Parameters, select the slaves and enter the slave parameters (Configure > Slave Parameters ) ). 5 Save the configuration (menu command File > Save ). The project file has the extension.et2. 6 Create the DP or FMS database (.LDB and.txt) in the NCM format (extension.ldb using the menu command File > Export > NCM File. Reaction: The converter is started. It creates a loadable database (.LDB), an ASCII database (.TXT) and an ASCII output file (.ERR). 7 Enter the name of the DP database in the configuration program Setting the PG/PC Interface : Start the configuration program (for example taskbar Start > Control Panel > Setting the PG/PC Interface ). Now select an interface name CP_L2_X: (X=1..4) that references a module parameter set 5x11 (DP master) or create the assignment. 8 Click the Properties. button Reaction: The PROFIBUS FMS/DP Master Properties page appears. 9 Now enter the path and the file name of the previously created database (.LDB). Use the Search... button to browse through your hard disk(s). Confirm your entries with OK. 10 Check the setting of the check box Not the only active master. This option should only be activated if you want to connect the CP to an active PROFIBUS. If the CP of the PG / PC is the only master, the option must be deactivated! Confirm all the settings with OK. 11 You can now start your DP or FMS master application. To test your application, you can use the sample program DPMDEMO.EXE or FMSDEMO.EXE. Procedure Follow the steps below to create a database for S7: Step Description 1 Start the COML S7 program from the Start menu (Start>Programs>SIMATIC NET>DP-5412>COML S7). 2 Start a new configuration with the menu command File > New. 3 Select PROFIBUS as the network type. 4 Configure the S7 connections as described in the manual Configuring the S7 Mode with COML S7. The manual is on the SIMATIC NET CD. Refer also to the online help for COML S7. 5 Save the configuration (menu command File > Save Text DB). 6 Create the S7-database (.LDB) using the menu command File > Create Binary DB As... Close the COML S7 program. 7 Specify the name of the S7 database in the Setting the PG/PC Interface configuration program: Start the configuration program (for example taskbar Start > Control Panel > Setting the PG/PC Interface). In the Control Panel, you can reassign resources (by double-clicking the entry CP 5412 (A2) ). Check whether there is a resource conflict in the Device Manager. Wrong PG/PC Setting? Check whether the access point and the module parameter set match. Configuration Problem? Check that the LDB database exists and that it is entered in the PG/PC interface. Check the station addresses and the selected bus parameters Under Windows NT 4.0 Initialization not Working? The standard settings cannot be used. The I/O address, the interrupt or the DPRAM address range must be modified. Check the resources used in your system before modifying settings. PC Does not Boot Correctly? While Windows NT is starting, press the space bar to start up with the last functioning configuration. Then assign free resources to the CP5412(A2). Checking Used Address Ranges To find out which I/O addresses, interrupts and DPRAM address range are already being used,start the Windows NT Diagnostics program in the Management group. With the IRQ/Port Status button, you can obtain information about interrupts and I/O ranges that are already being used, with the DMA/Memory button you obtain information about physically occupied address ranges. Setting PC Hardware- Parameters For information about setting the PC hardware parameters (interrupts, I/O port, DP-RAM range), please refer to the notes on configuring the CP5412(A2). On some computer models with a memory configuration greater than 16 Mbytes, access to the ISA bus is only possible in areas D0000-DFFFF or E0000-EFFFF. You may have to change settings in the BIOS of your computer. For more information, read the BIOS description of your computer.
