Check for loose broken alternator belt. Check for loose wires on alternator and battery

SOURCE: Audible beeping sound with oil light flashing.

oil pressure low, check oil level.

SOURCE: 2001 vw alternator on the fritz

turn off radio to keep from losing code.remove negative battery cable.disconnect wires from alternator .mark wires with tape to be sure they go back in the same place.loosen belt tension remove belt .if you have VR6-AAA-ENGINE remove the belt tensionsr from cylinder head .remove alternator adjustment bolt followed by pivot bolts .slowly lift alternator from bracket.smile take a deep breath dont need many tools.all you need is the basic tools. basic 3/8 socket set and open -close box end wrenches 13 up to 18 metrics.

SOURCE: MY GLOW PLUG LIGHT IS FLASHING IN MY DASH BOARD VW

Despite what you may read from other comments....The glow plug light is simple a multi function warning light and IS among many othed things in fact used to warn of brake light and brake light switch failure. Therefore it can NOT be treated as glow plug problems only. I have worked on V.W for many years and have encountered this problem many times. You should get the OBD codes read. This will reveal the exact problem...and there may be more than one You can contact your V,W agents if you wish and check to see if I am correct. Best of luck John

SOURCE: VW passat coolant warning light on

There's a level sensor plugged into the bottom of the coolant reservoir. Unplug it and clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner. If that doesn't do the trick, replace the sensor.

You serpentine belt is either broken or come off the pulley....
