Jan 18, 2019 5 0 510 I want to upgrade a old HP Pavilion dv6 laptop and seek help for the following: (1a) the current BIOS is Ver. F12 [08/05/10], do we have a BIOS upgrade from this BIOS version ? (1b) Is processor [currently i5 M460 @ 2,53GHz] upgrade possible in the laptop (if its socket mounted), hence the highest Processor Specs supported ? (2) the maximum RAM capacity is 8GB [2 x 4GB], what the HIGHEST memory bus frequency this mother board [144A, ver 65.27] can support ? (3) what will there be a performance enhancement if the HDD is replaced with a SSD ( as it has only SATA-II interface) ? (4) Does Win10 OS perform well on this configuration ? (5) Can the current WiFi card RALINK RT3090BC4 V20A be replaced with a card with enhanced Specs - What is the enhanced WiFi card ? (6) Pertinent suggestions pls, Thankyou - Solution

I can't find any support for this laptop, including the BIOS. Why do you need BIOS update ? Don't update the BIOS if everything is run fine.

IMO, you don't need to upgrade the CPU. You will only got a little improvement. If you want to upgrade, max the RAM to 8Gb and got a SSD, and you will feel the different. Upvote 1 Downvote I
