I'm debating with myself if I should get Sound BlasterX G6 or Sennheiser GSX 1000, or just get an amp and connect it to my motherboard? My motherboard is Asus Rog Maximus Z690 Formula which has SupremeFX ALC4082 with ESS Sabre ES9018Q2C DAC. I read it's a pretty good DAC. And it is actually pretty good as the sound from from it compared to Sound BlasterX AE-5 Plus was barely different. It felt like the AE-5 had better bass, but the motherboard pushed more volume. I prefer deeper sound, but can't justify barely any difference from a €160 soundcard. I'm not a big fan of Creative software though. I've had Z, ZxR and now AE-5 and all 3 have had buggy software that was annoying me. The headphones I will be using is Sennheiser RS 175 (I also have BD DT990 Pro but probably won't use a lot). I will be gaming (no competitive fps) and listening to music and videos on YouTube. No high quality movies or music as for that I have another setup. I don't have much experience in this field and I don't want to make a purchase mistake by spending €100-200. That's my budget. G6 is about €130 (new), GSX 1000 €120 (used) and the AMP is have no idea. Tips and suggestions are welcome
