In June 2025, the Videos tab on Facebook was renamed to the Reels tab. All videos posted to Facebook are now shared as reels to simplify the way creators produce and share video content on the platform. Reels can be any length or orientation. Learn more about this change here.

Sound Collection is Meta’s public-facing resource of nearly 16,000 original, high-quality songs or sound effects that are rights-cleared and free for people to download to use on Facebook. When you use audio from Sound Collection, your reel will not be demonetized or muted due to a copyright violation.

If you are a creator with a Page or a profile in professional mode, you can find Sound Collection audio in 2 places:

• In our audio library, which is the audio options presented when you upload a reel to Facebook.
• On the desktop surface Sound Collection.

Sound Collection in audio library

When you upload a reel on Facebook mobile or in Meta Business Suite desktop, you will be presented with audio options you can add to your content. Our Sound Collection audio is included in these options.

The audio options presented will include labels so you can identify which songs and sounds are from Sound Collection. All audio from Sound Collection is labeled Royalty-free. Not only is it free to use, creators can also monetize their content when using Sound Collection audio.

Note: The audio library also presents audio labeled:

• Royalty-free: This audio is safe to use and you can earn money based on the performance of your content.
• Licensed music: This audio may be eligible for monetization earnings shared with a music rights holder.

Sound Collection on desktop

Use Sound Collection on desktop to find free music and sounds and then download the audio to add them to the reels you create and share on Facebook. You'll need to use your own video creation software to add the music and sounds to your reels.

To use Sound Collection on desktop:

1. Go to Sound Collection.
2. Explore music in the Tracks tab and sound effects in the Sound effects tab at the top. You can:
   • Search by keyword.
   • Filter by genre, mood, length, vocals and more.
   • Listen to different tracks and sound effects by pressing the play button.
   • Roll over an artist's name to learn more about them or follow them.
3. Click Download to download a track.
4. Click Information to get song and sound attribution links.
5. Use your video creation software to add the downloaded music or sounds to your reel.

Using licensed music

Creators can use audio from Meta’s licensed music catalog, also located in our audio library when you add audio to your reel on Facebook. Licensed music is available to creators through our partnerships with music rights holders. When you use licensed music, you may be eligible to earn money based on your reel’s performance.
