Hardly any Volkswagen can look back on such a long production period without major changes as the first Golf Convertible generation. In 1979 it replaced the open Beetle and was built in this form by Karmann in Osnabrück until 1993. There were many special models of the car and to this day, quite a few vehicles can still be seen on European roads in the summer due to a good supply of original spare parts. A total of 389,000 of the Type 155 were built in the 14 years of production, many of which went to the USA.
