Hello, was wondering if there is a way to specify model variant in ETKA(8.1) when vin lookup doesn't work. Or is there a way to make vin lookup work in ETKA without subscription? Edit Reason: Can't spell. :) ) No way to make vin lookup work without subscription since it requires a connection to VAG servers. Inside the owners service book and inside the vehicle (boot area) you will find a rectangular white label. This has the codes for model, engine, gearbox, axle ect. You need to enter these codes in the vehicle description box in Ekta or Elsawin. The more codes you enter, the more specific the information given. Please don't forget the Rate (Heart icon at top center of post) & Thanks buttons below. Getting the build codes is not the problem, they are all over the car.  The nuisance is looking thru every result coming from ETKA on the X year model and the Y restriction modification. Would think that there is an easier way, but I guess actually paying for it is the easiest way, it seems. Have you used it before? illustrations better than ETKA? ETKA also have short term access(erWin), starting from 7€ for one hour. Edit: Looking at their online-demo, it looks alot like ETKA, but cheaper. But I don't think they supply repair information tho, which is included in the erWin access. Edit 2: http://www.oemepc.com is another one, and also free. So for parts catalog and illustrations, it's good. It also has a VIN decoder, but it didn't work on my 2016 model. https://7zap.com/en/ is also a good one, it also shows specific restriction identifier, something I didn't see at oemepc.com, just multiple year models(ie. 2016,2016, 2015,2015,2015, no other identifier). https://nemigaparts.com/ on par with 7zap.com Thanks given by: diagnostix Reply
