sb1616ne S I have ran both the fully machined xx1 level Sram cassettes and low level GX cassettes and it's tought to detect any differences in the trail. The machined cassette does seem wear slightly better, not sure the alloy they use. Other than the increased weight is there any real downside to the cheaper GX cassettes? Sram has seeemed to sort the issues with pins loosening up making a creaky cassette. #1 · Oct 15, 2017 I have ran both the fully machined xx1 level Sram cassettes and low level GX cassettes and it's tought to detect any differences in the trail. Yes you can buy that separately but it'll cost you as much as the cheapest 11speed XG-1150 cassette which has a 42T steel cog at and thus excellent lifetime. The XG-1180 cassette (which has a mini cluster of 3 machined cogs, rest is stamped) is probably the worst of the bunch since it doesn't have the hardened steel cogs of the higher prices cassettes and you cannot swap the 42T aluminium cog either when it's worn. #3 · Oct 15, 2017 I have had the X01, X1 and GX cassette. X01 cassette definitely gives a crisper shift. You can feel the difference, but it doesn't really matter on the trail.. I run xx1 trigger, x01 casette and gx derailleur. The bearings in the trigger is a huge plus compared to the other, the gx derailleur is only 20g heavier than a XX1 and is easier on the wallet when i smash it. I could not feel the difference when going from xx1 to Gx der either. #4 · Oct 17, 2017 I've taco'ed the 42t cog on a sram cassette before, but I've never had any of the four GX level cassettes loosen up at the pins. And I destroy all cassettes at an alarming rate. Insert Quotes Post Reply
