Static Chart Into Playlist (Beatport Top 10, HNHH Top 100...)

Would you pay for a service that turns a chart (you choose) into a Youtube Playlist, then checks for updates in a regular basis?

As a music lover, I find myself copy/paste tracks one by one from Charts into Youtube search, which disconcert my attention from current tasks.

Every music lover can submit their preferred charts to be turned into playlists. The playlists are updated weekly/monthly.

I don't think i would pay for it, but it is a pain i'm having. But there are probably other revenue streams you can explore, maybe artists can promote their tracks through your service?

Thanks for the feedback. I saw your thread here https://www.indiehackers.com/post/any-other-indiehacker-djs-how-do-you-find-new-music-db43fd97a3 I'm not a DJ, but I do love discovering new tracks, while doing another tasks (like programming).

I have some tested scrapers that work on Youtube and Soundcloud that can help me in discovering some new tracks (not much). It depends on how many follows I have, and does not show the track genre. It works with filters (date, likes, comments..).

Then I thought about scraping charts from Beatport, Deejay.de, RA (to only talk about EDM). I have the scrapers working, but have to be ran in the shell. Beatport does have many Artists charts, and so is RA. So the scraper can have some sort of a template that works on many pages.

I'm trying to solve my own problem, while thinking in the long run. What do you think?

Cool! How is the experience of the prototype, do the songs that show up fit the style that you like? And does it go wide enough (i.e you discover new/rare artists)?

I like DJs as a target group because they provide a concrete set of needs and problems that can be tackled with a product. Additionally, music discovery is part of their professional workflow so improving it might be worth some money to them. And it also narrow the types of music that it needs to handle.

I think casual music listeners are already helped with Spotify radio and discover weekly. Maybe there is a target group of music "enthousiasts" that need more elaborate tools for discovery, i'm not sure.

If you just like to program a scraper and not do the user research I would so say: go for it. A database new music aggregated from various sources is probably worth something to someone ;)

Scraping music works like a newsletter, it shows latest releases from the listed sources. It is not intelligent enough to do suggestions, or make me discover new artists. To not skip new tracks from artists I like, I grouped Youtube channels into lists: Rap, Electronic.

But thinking of it, the discovery process is way more complicated than this and involves an intuitive process.
