Reviewed in the United States on March 27, 2015Verified PurchaseA reissue of the Board's mega-rare and mega-expensive longplayer from '66 along with two follow-up 45's. The band specialized in harmony pop but with an edge. Their best stuff like I Want, I Call My Woman Hinges, Margot, Rosalyn is world class power-pop freakeat, as good as the Easybeats or Twilights or anything out of England at the time but the band could also write first rate ballads like Lonely Winter. Simply put, their lp is in a class with other Trans-World monsters from '66 like Tages 2, Les Sauterelles and Easybeats - Volume 3.The band wrote most of their own material almost all of it is great. Even their covers of songs like Farmer John and Buddy Holly's "Love Made A Fool Of You" are turned into freakbeat classics. However their later '66 single "Now I'm Older" is their masterpiece: a brilliant slice of power-pop and early psychedelia. Up there with the Creatures' 'Ugly Thing' and the Playboys 'Sad' as one the best 45's to ever come out of Australia.Sound quality is great from master tapes.
