There’s a 473k resistor on tone 1, obviously for the 500k pots and single coils, but these resistors on the switch? What are these for? The pickups are 5500, made for 500k pots, so the 473k isn’t necessary here anyway, but I’m interested in the other resistors, what they could be intended for? 4AEDD252-BC64-4C50-B3E0-2C55B75F081D.jpeg

It would be connected to the volume control. So that tone pot is probably 500K with a 470K (which is really a 500K resistor, essentially) resistor so that tone pot is essentially 250K. The resistor on the switch goes from the single coil switched area to the volume control so that for the single coils, the volume pot is seen as a 250K pot as well. So your single coil(s) will see 250K volume and 250K tone controls. Your humbucker will see 500K volume and 500K tone controls. The 470K value is used in both places because that is how the math works out (500K pot + 500K resistor = 250K pot). 67 goat

You can always hook it up and see if you like the sound, but you may also decide you do not want the extra loss of highs in the 250K portion of the circuit. GV Quinn

Thought so, I assumed it’d be the tech who wired it not being aware of what these specific Tyler pickups were intended for. I’m asking questions cos I’m reluctant to change the entire wiring loom out. My ‘Strat’ is a Suhr Classic, it has their SSC system, not as simple a swap, don’t want to have to gut the entire innards.
