H12SSL-i/C/CT/NT User's Manual L-SAS Ports (L-SAS0~L-SAS7), H12SSL-CT & H12SSL-C Only The motherboard supports eight SAS ports on two onboard connectors, L-SAS0~L-SAS3 and L-SAS4~L-SAS7. Connect hard drives to these SAS ports using a MiniSAS to 4 breakout cable, one for each connector that supports up to four drives each. NVM Express Connections Two NVM Express ports are located on the serverboard. These ports provide high-speed, low-latency PCIe 4.0 x8 connections directly from the CPU to NVMe Solid State (SSD) drives. This greatly increases SSD data-throughput performance and significantly reduces PCIe latency by simplifying driver/software requirements resulted from direct PCIe interface from the CPU to the NVMe SSD drives.
