Partners in Progress

Day surgery and inpatient surgery is provided at Northumberland Hills Hospital for adult and pediatric patients.

Staffed by general surgeons, obstetrician/gynecologists, an ophthalmologist, anesthesiologists, respiratory therapists and a number of visiting specialists, this unit offers surgical procedures in general surgery, gynecology, ear nose and throat (ENT), plastic surgery, urology and more.

Pre-operative consultations are provided as required for patients undergoing surgery, including a nursing consultation and an anesthesiology consultation.

Transportation home – an important reminder

Patients cannot drive home alone after surgery. It is an expectation that all surgical patients make arrangements before their procedure to have a person accompany them home after surgery. In instances where transportation home is not available, surgical procedures will be rescheduled.
