SYM Malaysia is one of the affordable motorcycle brands in the country. The company is headquartered in Pula Pinang and has several dealers and service centres across the country. In Malaysia, Mforce Bike Holdings Sdn. Bhd is SYM’s official distributor and was established in 2008 bt Dato’ Sri Tan Lean Head. Mforce Bike not only distributes motorcycles locally but also exports them to other Asian countries.

The long-standing Taiwan motorcycle brand in Malaysia has several amazing models in key segments, these include the SYM VF3i 185, Sport Rider 125i, Bonus 110 SR, CRUiSYM 250i, Jet 14, Mio 110, Maxsym 2020, and E Bonus 110.

In May 2020, SYM launched the two vehicles in the country - the Maxsym 500 and VF3i 185 LE. The former is a stylish, masculine scooter powered by a 465cc liquid-cooled DOHC unit, the company’s first two-cylinder engine. Inside the cockpit, it gets a 4.5-inch TFT-LCD display that gives the rider all the necessary information. Both rear and front get LED lighting with the headlight fixed with a quad unit with LEDs for low- and high-beam. The 2020 VF3i 185 supercub is a limited edition model with only 5000 units.

Compared to the standard model, it gets distinguishing bits like green painted wheels, apple green graphics, and matte green paintwork. As standard equipment, it also receives a small flyscreen. However, the most significant change is found inside the 183cc engine, the throttle body is up 30 mm from the previous 28 mm. Other upgrades include adjustable brake and clutch levers, LED taillights, and revised instrument panel.

In April 2020, amid the Movement Control Order, SYM launched the 2020 Maxsym TL 500 scooter. It revealed to the public via a Facebook post by one of the company’s dealers. Like the Maxsym 500, it also benefits from a two-cylinder power plant. The company claims it to offer exceptional handling thanks to the 50:50 weight distribution. It gets full-colour 4.5-inch TFT-LCD screen, 15-inch wheels, ABS, and adjustable windshield.

In October 2019, SYM introduced the 2020 VF3i with new graphics and colour options. While the base version is available in three tones - Grey, Blue, and Red, the special edition comes in a Gold splash. In November 2019, the Jet14 200 and Mio 110 were introduced.
