I bought a Volvo V40 T4 '13 with polestar upgrade ecu and I measure the horsepower on the Dyno (Dynapack) and the result was 165hp at the wheels.I also check the boost pressure and was 1.2bar. Another information is that the max boost pressure was 0.5 bar @ 1st and 2nd Gear.The 3-6 gears begins 0.8 @2000rpm and linear(smooth) to 1.2 @5000rpm.The question is : According to the above does my car truly has a Polestar tune ecu upgrade because seems like is not very agresive-powerful! ? #1 · May 3, 2019 (Edited) Hello to everyone!!! It should come with 200hp after the polestar upgrade, as per the official site: https://engineered.polestar.com/uk/product/optimisation/v40-t4-fwd-manual-6-gear-2013. 165 is close enough to 180, but too far away from the claimed 200hp I'd say. But, to be honest, a 10% boost is negligible and hardly noticeable anyway IMO. Though the torque should be noticeable. The Polestar badge on the back can be applied by anyone and can be ordered at the dealer for about 10 GBP (part no 1062818). #3 · May 4, 2019 I would certainly not agree with this result. Go back to the seller and ask for proof. Even 165 is not the same as 180. Maybe there is a technical reason for that, or some damage? The new VEA's deliver more HP than announced most of the time, not sure how it was before the VEA's. #4 · May 4, 2019 Is there any chance after the version 2 upgade (made in a volvo dealership),to lose the polestar tuning program? Along with the service book of the car i bought,they also gave me a polestar box with product serial number in it. I also checked via vida dice and no faults found.. #5 · May 4, 2019 A polestar update is preserved when a software update is done by the dealer. Two more things that i'd like to ask you.. The first thing is; what is the maximum boost pressure an OEM turbo can handle (safely)?
