  The movement of people from agricultural areas to cities to work can cause serious problems in both places. What are the problems? What measures can be done? It is true that the migration of people from rural areas to cities is becoming popular. Several problems have resulted from this tendency and they should be tackled by a number of effective solutions from governments. To begin with, there are several problems can be anticipated if the process of people moving from rural areas happens. Firstly, urban dwellers may face high unemployment rates because a number of applicants who apply for the same position. Secondly, the high cost of living in big cities places financial burden on every individual. It is obvious that there are many expenses that an average city dweller has to pay monthly. Moreover, with an increasing urban population growth due to this phenomenon, traffic jams is becoming more serious. This leads to air pollution which contributes to environmental degradation. Furthermore, countryside life has been affected severely. It is acknowledged that more people move to downward areas, the fewer people live in agricultural areas. This leads to the shortage of employees. More importantly, traditional jobs might disappear because there are not enough people to continue. For example, farming which most of families in countryside areas depend on would not exist. In addition, people who choose to live in cities are young people. These people leave their hometowns to find a decent job. As a result, their children lack of parental care. This means that the children are easily commit crimes and take part in gangs. Since such issues are serious, the government should take steps to address these problems. The first solution would be improve rural economy by building more industrial zones in the countryside. This would attract a large number of employees. A second measure is that the governments should provide social housing, which reduces the situation lots of poor people live in slums. Last but not least, in order to alleviate traffic problems, it is important to improve public transit. As a result, the public would choose public transport instead of private vehicles. Therefore, it is the authorities that implement proper strategies to solve the problem. In conclusion, there are various negative consequences of urbanization and appropriate steps need to be taken to tackle the problems.
