Ask the reviewerWhat software version is it?What apps cause issues?Have you tried factory reset?NewSlowest electronic device known to man – TV is slow and unresponsive, takes up to 10 seconds to respond after pressing a button on the remote. Also freezes frequently. Backlight bleed is evident. Show details
Out of sync audio picture issue – The TV could be considered a good buy, picture and sound are good quality and the size of the screen so they get a star but due to the fact that it is SERIOUSLY plagued by audio sync issues 1st on installed apps - Netflix / Stan / Binge / Paramount plus / Disney plus / Youtube means the smart bit of it all isn't included. Add to this the added… Read more
issue now that since it had a module replace 4 factory reset power resets unplugged devices the issue went away....but came back again and again and again and again and now LIVE TV is out of sync too !!!! Oh and now the clock is missing a digit...(see pic) Still got 20 year old TV's handling HD and Dolby 5.1 output and smooth scanning puts this TV to shame - I am wishing I went with the Japan manufacturers now. I am however in touch with customer support almost monthly luckily I have extended warranty on this set so I will be in touch with them very regularly for the next 4 or 5 years. DON'T buy these !!! honestly spend the extra and then.... relax...
Aaaaah nearly forgot I reported issues of picture darkening too picture gently but inexplicably goes darker then brightens up again. Does not seem to be all the time - My son picked up on this before I noticed it, so it's not just me or my eyes !
TCL full of lies – I bought this TV based on the information contained on the box, the sales person even their product website where it clearly says HDMI 2.1. It states you need a new console or device 2.1 capable to utilise this. Well it doesnst have HDMI 2.1. It instead has HDMI eArc/Arc which is the upgraded audio of the 1.4 and 2.0. It CANNOT RUN 4K at 120 Htz… Read more
and is thus completely misleading and the information has been referred to the ACCC.
AS my TV was a sales item i could not return it for one that suited my needs. So im left with a TV that is full of lies.
Never buying TLC again.
TV is good but service is not! – The 75C725 TV and a TS8111 sound bar were to be the warranty replacements for a 75C815 that cost $500 more than the model offered as replacement. It is a good TV but they reneged on the sound bar after the deal was agreed Show details
Perfect TV for the bedroom – Quick to set up. Inbuilt Comcast, 4K suitable for gaming. Offering Bluetooth, WiFi. Good HDMI ports. Nice sound, clear screen. Narrow remote easy to use. All you’ll have have do it setup and put your passwords in! On my opinion it has a better picture than an iPad.9 Show details

The outer piece of the antenna port of TCL 55C725 has come off and TCL rejects the warranty claim – On the first day we received the TV set TCL 55C725 we inserted the aerial cable into the antenna port by applying a gentle "push" force -> no issues. 7-8 weeks later we removed the aerial cable from the antenna port by applying a gentle "pull" force -> the outer piece of the antenna port came off with the antenna cable owing to: 1. the outer piece… Read more
of the antenna port not having been soldered to the inner piece 2. the antenna port outer piece having some original damage only visible once it came off. It is most evident that the "deformation" on the internal end of the outer piece of the antenna port is within the TV set (shown on the photo) and cannot have been caused by the user In an email TCL stated "this is not the first time that we encountered this kind of issue" does corroborate the case for the outer piece of the antenna port coming off owing to defective workmanship. Notwithstanding the evidence (and logic) provided TCL has rejected the warranty claim on the grounds of physical damage caused by the user: this is preposterous since the physical damaged is directly related to the original defective workmanship.
This TV is fantastic. We love it and Mrs Google is lovely. Thank you TCL – Love, love, love it. The picture and sound quality are just great, we had not even considered a TCL TV, but found it to be every thing we wanted in our price range. We are very satisfied. Thank you Show details
Not impressed, originally, but finally got a decent TV – Chrome cast does not work, when it does, dont try to adjust any settings, not even volume or it will drop out. Have to shutdown TV and reboot, and sometimes clean out Chromecast cached files for it to work. Almost impossible to sink sound and image. The supposed motion control for watching action sports, plasters a light coloured band across the… Read more
screen. Useless. So if you are buying for either of these features, look elsewhere. Apart from that seems fine. But is my first smart tv. Sound is a bit scratch and there is no built in Equaliser or tone controls, and no ap available for it. Number and type of aps that can be installed seems very limited. No Foxtel Go ap or Kayo. So have to chromecast and that is a waste of time.
Have sent messages to TCL Aus twice on the online portal. No replies.
Edit 12 months on things have improved. The original TV replaced with a new Google TV, instead of Android TV to address motion issues. The Chromecast issues persisted, and the motherboard was replaced. This is no rectified too. FoxtelGo ap works fine now too. This was an ap issue. Sound issue also rectified. THis may have been my error. Star rating from 2 to 4
PreviousIncredible after finding the right settings – The operating system is still very slow for me, but after turning off most "smart" functions of the tv and starting from a clean slate, I was able to get crazy nice refresh rate and picture quality on anything I want to watch, 4k or otherwise. Really really happy to get this quality out of such a cheap tv. Show details
Awesome VA Screen + matching sounds – Price Paid: $760 LCD Panel and image Quality: Amazing image quality , contrast and colors. Best in class less than $1000 budget. Image quality out of the box is no so good. You can tweak the image in movie mode to the extent you like. Generally on LCD panels, increasing contrast will blow out the highlights. This panel has so rich highlight… Read more
capability so that increasing contrast to 100% still gives very pleasing results even in very bright situations.
Colours: Colours are so pleasing and really up for today's 4K content. I feel like re-watching all movies watched in the past with this TV. I already have a Hisense 4K from 2016, which was the best looking Hisense during that time ($1400 back then) . Watch it to believe
Playing 4K via HDD: the stock player pretty much nails any format you throw at it. No need to install 3rd party players. The stock player is faster.
Android smart TV: OS gets slow sometimes. not the best processor around.
not perfect out the box – i purchased the 43 inch version from harvey norman. out of the box the colour saturation, sharpness and backlight led power where out of spec. i set it up as close to perfect as i can on the lg oled blacks video. the results are amazing. very happy Show details
Don't buy this TV – Bought this TV while it on special discount. This TV is unable to display any dark scenes, got white patchy cloud scattering across whole screen, looks terrible. Really ruined the movie experience. Apparently, it is normal according to TCL support, what a joke. Show details

Know better, choose better.
Compare allWorst TV ever – Try playing 4k content and the audio continues whilst the picture is lags. Obviously what ever processing chip they used is just not up to it. Like using Windows 10 on a 40yr old computer. It's horrible. Up to a second or two lag on the remote for anything to move in the menu. How a company could release this is beyond me. It almost class action material. I'm taking it back to JB tomorrow. Show details
Horrible quality – Colour is off even with adjustments The inbuilt Chromecast doesn't work, it lags and has a significant audio lag The processing time is also very slow and difficult to navigate through the tv. Show details
Great mid range option – After a stuff around on two previous TVs including a c715 that was damaged in transit I decided to pay the extra for the current c725 model. Seriously I couldn't of made a better choice. Android TV built in is perfect, it's full fat android tv and not cut down so I'm able to run my VPN and Kodi player, go to app settings and turn off the power… Read more
management for the VPN so it doesn't get unexpectedly put to sleep, also allow bypass for the your regular streaming apps Netflix etc. Not worth the hassle of trying. Once I took the picture out of Eco mode and put it on HDR it's damn near spot on, very minor tweaks to things like colour temp and black control needed to make this a great no fuss experience. Speakers are definitely a selling point, unlike the c815 soundbar chin all the Onkyo stuff is hidden behind. Less to see and while not on par with my LG 2.1 soundbar I'd say it's about 80-90% of what my soundbar puts out. Give it a day or two and you'd forget theres even a distance. Great sound range with a rich unobtrusive bass. While you'll never think this is a screen that's anything above the mid-range panel it is its certainly one you'd be very happy to live with everyday and not feel like you're ripped off or missing out.
