doityourself D Hello, Could anyone tell me if the new POLO (9N31F4) has CAN-bus ? I'm interested in buying a vag-com interface for diagnostic and need to know which type. I've got 1.4 FSI engine, ESP, Climatronic, 2 airbags, central lock,factory-fitted alarm, and I want to see them all with VAG-COM. What do I need, KKL or CAN interface ? The electronics is pretty much the same as the pre-facelift model. #3 · Feb 24, 2006 Re: (Theresias) Are you sure ? Pls take a look at https://erwin.volkswagen.de/er...60192 It's genuine VW info. #4 · Feb 24, 2006 Re: (doityourself)

Are you sure ?
Yes, I am - otherwise the Polo (9N3) would be on the CAN page. Image http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/canbus.html I do have several scans from 9N3's here, most modules KWP-1281, only ABS and Radio (RCD200) use KWP-2000. KWP-1281 is only possible via K-Line, while the 2 KWP-2000 modules still do K-Line too.

The page you are referring to only shows the gobal use of CAN databusses, but this has nothing to do with diagnostics via CAN. That means that I don't need the CAN-bus tester from Ross-Tech, the KEY-USB Interface it's enough to test all systems, right ? #6 · Feb 25, 2006 Re: (doityourself)

Yup. #7 · Feb 25, 2006 Re: (Theresias) Thanks again, I'll do it. #8 · Jan 8, 2022 Looking at the wiring diagram of VW Polo 9n (2004) found in Autodata. It has CAN-H & CAN-L wires which lead to different modules. What does it actually mean if the car doesn't have a CAN Bus? As @Theresias said, when I take a look at the Control units (modules) information using scan tool, I see majority of them are using K-Line: KWP1281 Protocol, which is confusing to me. Would be nice if anyone can explain this here: Rectangle Product Slope Schematic Font Insert Quotes Post Reply
