I hated him so much and he barely had any character development FORTY chapters in so I dropped it. One trope I despise is when there's a "straight" character (probably bisexual) that just says homophobic and insensitive shit and it's just brushed off as them "figuring themselves out". It had barely even delved into the teacher's feelings or point of view at all, despite him being featured in nearly every chapter. Disappointing.

Mind the tags for the seme. If you don't like such tags then don't read. I don't understand people choosing to read this and complaining why there's a dead dove in the bag when it's clearly labeled.

Two heartbroken people with "abnormal" desires, meeting and forming a toxic dependent relationship to console themselves. It was interesting to read the gradual change (for the better) of their relationship. I love the clear difference of their appearances between the first and the last chapter. Both characters looked so shit faced and depressed but they eventually get there, together. Yuri is such a clown. I'm cackling how he became the clingy type compared to his aggressive tsundere ass in the initial seasons. I love how Seonwoo's overall health became better. It's one of the few character developments I love to read about.

I liked this one. Two broken people eventually finding solace with each other, despite their rocky starts.

it started very dramatically, but midway got rlly toxic, Yuri didn’t listen at all and behaved like a kid despite him saying that he is an adult, Mr. Lee clearly needed help and peace of mind, but for a long time Yuri wasn't helpful at all. in the end I liked the ending but dozen last chapters were pretty annoying 🍭-1, 🎈- 2, 🌶 - 2,🚩 - 3

I get teary every time I reread this. They seem like such an unlikely pair, but the way their relationship progresses is so emotionally subtle. Some stories have the characters constantly declaring their love for each other very loudly without really showing us why they like that other person specifically. It just tends to be “They’re hot and nice and I’m in love.” For these two, the gradual softening towards each other and the reasons why they’re drawn to each other (Yuri to Seonwoo because he’s starved for affection and Seonwoo is the type to keep offering gentle compassion even when Yuri acts like an asshole, and Seonwoo to Yuri because Yuri becomes so straightforwardly—albeit belligerently—on Seonwoo’s side, which must have seemed like an anchor after being let down by his coworkers/the educational system and being left behind by Jungho) are believable and specific to who they are as people. You couldn’t just swap a random hot, nice person into the relationship. Overall a truly heartfelt and poignant portrait of two people finding solace in each other with all their neuroses and dysfunction, ending up happy but far from perfect (and pretty far from healthy lol).

Flawed characters with a semi-toxic relationship. Realistic and messy plot. Psychological slow-burn that requires reading-in-between-the-lines. Important themes are portrayed intensely. Sombre atmosphere. Relationships are not to be underestimated. Morally grey conflict and solutions. Thoughtful character development. My favourite is Seonwoo. Presents a mandatory ensemble of mixed emotions. Recommended for those looking for a serious and multi-layered story.

Another dramatic unrealistic ott work of Korea 😂 This author have a talent to made all her character unlikable, I read both of her works and I'm amazed how there is not even ONE likable character 😩 I forced myself to end their previous work and I tried so hard to read this nonsense too but I just can't do it anymore after reading 35 chapter, it's basically a torture and making my anxiety go up to sky so yeah fvck it , especially two leads here , sorry but I find both of them crazy disgusting, unlikable and so ott so I dropped it.

I can’t do this, I see rape I leave. It’s disgusting as it is. I always have people argue it ain’t rape well NEW FLASH there’s different types of rape. And sadly this one falls under one of the categories.

Guys it’s totally not rape just because 1.The partner never consented 2. He is literally crying 3. He looks like he is ill 4. You know he hates it. Because you know he totally is finding pleasure in it (this is sarcasm/chapt 15 )

I'm not going to finish this.

The Shape of Your Love was like a breath of fresh air for me. I am tired of reading the same stories over and over again. You know... stories where one mc is abusive, and the other is a doormat. Sounds familiar? I had high expectations for this story. First, I thought artist worked with a different author this time. What a letdown! I can't see any reedeming qualities Yuri has that would make up for his awful character, except his looks maybe. Why anyone puts up with him is a mystery to me.

Art is gorgeous, but the other similar stories like this have great art too. Great art alone doesn't make great stories.

Let me start by saying I read “the shape of your love” first as it’s the main story and I really liked it. When I saw the spinoff came out in the same universe with some of the side characters I was interested, the art style is really nice as well.

I’m not a huge fan of stories with heavy levels of angst, so, at one point in the story, I started, contemplating dropping it, and just binging it once it was done. I am happy I stuck through. I didn’t expect to like this story as much as I ended up liking it…

I actually like this story more than “the shape of your love”. I think this was just a personal preference because high school was a long time ago for me…lol so this story was more relatable as it takes place a few years after the ML graduates from high school. Also, it’s not necessary to have read “the shape of your love“, to understand this story they could be read completely separately, although having read “the shape of your love”, first give some context to the story background.

The struggles that the main CP for this story go through and the character growth that both the ML and the MC go through are written really well, and even though they’re going each individually through their own trauma, and growing together, you do really root for them to succeed, individually, and hopefully together.

There is a HE and it’s definitely worth reading to get to.
