Teaching aids: power point, textbook Time/ Stages Contents Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 8’ ** Warm-up Games: Stop the bus Group 1 Group 2 Country: ___________ ___________ Sport: ___________ ___________ Suggested ideas: + T: Thailand, Tennis, Table tennis. + V: Vietnam, Volleyball. + B: Brunei, Basketball, Billiards, Bodybuilding. + C: Cambodia, chess. + S: Singapore, Snooker, Swimming . – Introducing the game to Students. + Dividing class into 2 groups. + Giving 2 groups a letter. + Asking Sts to think of an Asian country and a sport begins with that letter. For ex: letter M, Malaysia and Mountain climbing. + Which group find out first will shout stop the bus and write down the words on the board. + Which group has more correct answers will be the winner. - Playing games 7’ Pre- speaking **Discuss in groups of 4 to answer the question: What Asian countries have taken part in the Asian Games? What sports have been competed in Asian Games? - Asking students to work in groups - Asking students to answer the questions - Calling on each group to give the answers? - Working in groups and taking notes the answers - Giving the answers 20’ While- speaking Task 1: Put these following phrases in the blanks a. the first Asian Games b.
