Back in 1985, Fullerene or Carbon 60 (better known as C60) was discovered and its founding was so monumental to science that the people who discovered it—Robert Curl, Harold Kroto, and Richard Smalley—were awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1996. There have been clinical evaluations regarding the aesthetic affects of C60. In two studies (both of women) who used the the molecule suspended in oil topically, both showed that when applied directly to the skin, C60 was effective at reducing wrinkles. In another study conducted in 2009, C60 was shown to promote hair growth in people suffering from hair loss.
