3 Riptide GP: Renegade

Time to switch things up, we’re moving from asphalt to something a bit wetter. This water-based racer has you piloting futuristic hydro jets along city water ways. Riptide GP: Renegade is another great game if you are into the arcade racing experience. 

It also has an engaging single player story mode which sets it apart from the rest of the offerings on this list. Furthermore, if you have multiple controllers, it supports split screen multiplayer on the same device.

 

2 Rush Rally 3

The closest thing you’re going to get to a mobile version of Dirt Rally at the moment, Rush Rally 3 packs a decent punch for a mobile game. It has a great selection of cars, with staples such as the Subaru WRX and the Mitzubishi Evo both represented. It also has some group B classics like the Audi Quatro and the MG metro.

The best choice for the rally fan on the go. It also has lots of customisation features which are hard to find in any other rally game. You get a fully-fledged livery editor as well as tuning options and replaceable wheels.

 

1 Horizon Chase - World Tour

Another fantastic offering for lovers of arcade racing. Horizon Chase takes its inspiration from 16-bit 90s classics like the Lotus Turbo Challenge series and Outrun, updating their colourful retro aesthetic for the modern era.

It has a fantastic, varied selection of vehicles with cars such as the Lancia Stratos, and the Lamborghini Murciélago LP 640 both featuring. The 1983 Toyota Sprinter Trueno also features, great news for any initial D fans out there. 

The tracks themselves are also a huge highlight, the colourful retro aesthetic means that each track stands out much more than you would expect from a typical racer. You will always be aware of where you are because of the lovingly detailed horizons of each different country you visit.
