Troubleshooting

Problem

This technote identifies a defect and provides a workaround for the clearexport_ssafe and clearimport commands that fail to import Microsoft® Visual SourceSafe version []6.0d[] files into an IBM® Rational® ClearCase® VOB.

Symptom

Attempts to import Microsoft Visual SourceSafe version 6.0d files using clearexport_ssafe and clearimport results in the following error:

clearimport: Error: Trouble invoking extract command. clearimport: Error: Trouble invoking "ssafeget "$//Test/Project Workbook/Log/June 27.doc" "d:\temp\system\tmp02776\June 27.doc"" Running ss get manually returns the following:

D:\Temp>ss get -I- -O- -W -GF- -V1 "$//Test/Project Workbook/Log/June 27.doc" 1 "June 27.doc" Project $3 Utilities has been destroyed, and cannot be rebuilt. Continue anyway?(Y/N)N

Note: This behavior does not occur with Microsoft Visual SourceSafe version 6.0c or its predecessor versions.
