Fans of classic fast Mercedes-Benz models know just how immensely popular the old 190E 2.5 16v Evolution from the late 1980s, early 1990s continues to be to this day. But what if you could do even better?

Meet the so-called Frankenstein Benz, created by Piper Motorsport over the course of five years. Who so long you ask? Because it marries the body of the 190E, complete with a bodykit mimicking the looks of the 1990s 2.5 16v EVO II and the mechanicals of a W204 C63 AMG’s (made from 2008-2014) engine, transmission, driveline, suspension, brakes, fire wall, dash, electronics and floor pan. This is not just an engine swap, but a complete transformation.

In order for everything to fit together, a lot of bodywork was necessary. For instance, the wheelbase was shortened, reinforcements were added and a complete re-build of the engine bay so as to fit all the new components underneath the 190E’s hood.

The 6.2-liter V8 alone was more than twice the size of the 190E’s four-pot, which at its best, would produce 235 PS (231 HP) for the EVO II. Meanwhile, the original C63 AMG had nearly double that, with 457 PS (450 HP) at its disposal. This car, however, also boasts a supercharger with a trunk-mounted cooler.

Of course, this 190E didn’t start off as an Evolution model, which is why the customer asked that the final product was made to look like an EVO II, at least on the outside. Inside, that’s a whole different story.

Get behind the wheel and you’ll instantly recognize the dashboard design of the W204 generation C-Class, although a custom center console needed to be installed to fit the 7-speed automatic transmission shifter and the four switches for the power windows.

According to TheDrive, the owner of this car promised exclusive coverage of the finished product to an undisclosed outlet, which means we’ll just have to keep our eyes open for when more information on it is released – like final power output, weight, 0-60 times and so on.
