  CBP is #NowHiring a GS-15 Supervisory Data Scientist (Director). Applications are open to the public until 1/06. Responsibilities will include: ➡️ Exercising responsibility for the critical aspects of design and development of information, analytical studies, and national data inquiries. This includes extracting data from CBP enterprise-wide data systems and external data systems; developing surveys or other tools to collect required information; and writing reports for internal use, as well as for publication in the federal register, for the national media, and various press outlets. ➡️ Leading agency-wide analytic, modeling, and simulation initiatives, including: developing research proposals and feedback programs; designing analytical products to better inform and support HRM and CBP decision-making processes; monitoring projects and reporting regularly on progress; developing feedback/research materials based on scientific best practices; supervising project execution; collaborating with statisticians to develop data analysis plans for analytic, modeling, and simulation efforts; and interpreting and sum. ➡️Providing expert advice to senior leadership on analytic, modeling, and simulation programs, social science methodology, and research practices.   AMO Stops Vessel Attempting to Smuggle 156 Pounds of Cocaine “Our interdiction efforts show results in all coastal areas of the island as a testimony of our commitment to protect our borders from dangerous contraband,” stated Christopher Hunter, Director of Air and Marine Operations in the Caribbean. A 20-foot center console Spider Yola with a purple hull was intercepted by Marine Interdiction Agents. A total of 59 bricks of cocaine were discovered and seized.   San Juan Field Operations hosted the first Teen Citizens Academy in Puerto Rico earlier this month. CBP participated as part of the Alas Para Un Sueño (Wings for a Dream) program, an initiative of the Puerto Rico Department of Education’s Bayamon Educational Region (ORE). “This program highlights CBP’s dedication to community engagement and education”, said Roberto Vaquero, San Juan Field Office Director of Field Operations. “By introducing students to our mission and operations, we inspire them to imagine their future contributions to national security and public service”. The Teen Citizens Academy will continue through June 2025, featuring additional visits to CBP facilities and collaborations with federal and state partners to provide students with a comprehensive and enriching experience.
