Upload your resume to LinkedIn

Last updated: 9 months ago LinkedIn offers multiple methods to upload your resume to LinkedIn, including uploading it to job applications as well as displaying it on your profile. Create your resume If you don’t already have a resume, you can create one with your LinkedIn profile one of two ways:
  • You can download your entire profile as a PDF in a resume format.

  • You can use LinkedIn Resume Builder to create and download a custom resume.

    Important to know

    Resume Builder feature is not currently available to all LinkedIn members.
Upload your resume to your LinkedIn account via Settings for future job applications

You can upload your resume from the Job Application Settings page by clicking Upload under the Resume section. You can also upload your resume navigating to the Jobs tab and clicking Preferences and then Resumes and application data. We’ll store your four most recently uploaded resumes on LinkedIn, allowing you to reuse them for future job applications.

Upload your resume during the job application process To upload a new resume from your computer or mobile device:
  1. Search for a job.

  2. Click or tap on a job title to view details.
  3. Click or tap the Easy Apply button.
    • Note: If you see the Apply button instead of the Easy Apply button, you'll be routed to that company's website or job board to continue the application process.
  4. Complete the required fields.
  5. Under Resume (optional), select Upload resume to upload your resume.
    • Note: If you aren’t logged in to LinkedIn, then uploading a resume is mandatory.
    • We recommend a file size less than 2MB and the file format must be either Microsoft Word or PDF.
  6. Click or tap Submit application when finished.
Here are some things to remember:
  • If you have trouble attaching your resume, try a different browser.
  • If you've submitted your application without a resume attached, you can't reopen your application to attach your resume or reapply for the same job post.
  • If you need to send your resume after submitting your application, you can directly contact the job poster with an InMail message if they’ve provided contact information in the job posting.

Upload your resume to your profile to share it with your network

If you want to showcase your resume on your profile, you can upload the document, which will allow you to share it with your network. Viewers will have the option to download it directly from your profile page.

Note: You won’t be able to use the resume uploaded to your profile for job applications. Please use one of the previously described upload methods for job applications. Delete a resume from your profile

To delete a resume from your profile:

  1. Go to the Job Application Settings page or the Resumes and application data page.

  2. Click the ellipsis (...) to the right of the resume.

  3. Select Delete.

Important to know

Previously submitted applications will not be affected.
