Aug 20, 2011 417 1 18,795 a question, I have researched online for processor but some say this, other say that. All used tower PC First question. C2d 3.0 or c2q 2.44 Vs g840 or g2020 or g3260 Is this c2d really better then these? For long run. 2nd question? For c2d 3.0 / c2q 2.44 Dell 780 or hp elite 8000 tower With 4gb ram 1333mhz. Without hdd. C2d tower $ 48-55 C2q tower $ 65-80 Vs These processor g840/ g2020/g3260 with asus mobo of their gen 4gb ram 1333 or 1600mhz with regular tower casing n 350 w psu used sea sonic? With DVD rw rom Without hdd. G840 tower $ 40-60 G2020 $ 60-80 G3260 $ 90-120 Considering these which one is worth buying. N considering o lay to change if anything happens to board or processor. 3rd question? Price of c2d in dell or hp 8000 PC is equal or more than g840/ g2020 / g3260 PC, if I compare few shops, ( not users or online store) written above I have price idea but again is it worth buying c2d or c2q without Gpu. Solution vampelle : Hlsgsz : vampelle : Crap! I don't want to spend more what What if I go i3-4150 processor. With asus h81me or asus h81m-k, Or I5-2400 with asus motherboard Oh oh! Can regular laptop with i5 4th gen with 2gb Gpu n 4gb ram . Like dell 5000 series handle Arkham? Forget about laptops and gaming. Out of the two options, get the i5 2400. A true quad core is always better, even if it's older. I being offered i5-2400 with asus board h61me or older one ( support of third gen pro too) Both used of purser for around $120-130 While i3-4150 with asus board I written for around $100-110 as I know someone who selling in this otherwise it would be in $120-130 also in used. Well, you could get the i3 for the newer platform. It will perform... Sort by date Sort by votes Gingerbread

Nov 2, 2009 4,752 2 33,960 With those pricves (the g3260 being so much more expensive), I would say the core 2 quad is the best option, pure price to performance ration. Might be old but still those cores are good, also easily overclockable to 3.2GHz on air. As far as integraed GPU, the g3260 will have the best one, but depends on what you want to do with it. If its just media and similar the c2q integrated is sufficient enough. Upvote 0 Downvote V

And not going to overclock ,as I don't know how and especially on these branded one since their psu is 300-320 w only Mainly, for streaming, full hd movies, downloading nonstop, works, and other stuff. I was thinking that too, but Upvote 0 Downvote Hlsgsz

I was thinking that too, but If you are not going to game, teh quad is by far the best option. Having those extra cores really makes a difference in windows in multitasking. Considering those are dell pc's they p[robably have integrated graphics, witch shopuld be good enough fo your needs. Upvote 0 Downvote V

No mater how low the settings, those CPUs can't handle arckham for example. Upvote 0 Downvote V

Well, you could get the i3 for the newer platform. It will perform satisfactory for now(depending on you gpu. if you tell me what that is i can tell you if the i3 is a good pair) and, in a couple of years, you can get a cheap second hand i5 or even i7. Prices will go down. Chances are, you'll find a powerful Xeon very cheap by then. Upvote 0 Downvote Solution You must log in or register to reply here.
