Abstract

The UV absorption cross sections of methyl formate, ethyl formate, n-propyl formate, and n-butyl formate are reported. The UV absorption spectra were measured by using a diode array spectrometer over the wavelength range 211 to 260 nm at room temperature (297 ± 3) K. The results are compared with the previously reported ones for methyl formate and ethyl formate. This work provides the first UV cross section measurements for n-propyl formate and n-butyl formate.

Key words: spectres uv / methyl formate / ethyl formate / n-propyl formate / n-butyl formate
