Post by vanners » Mon May 07, 2012 8:23 pm I've got the Viking 6, absolutely no experience of any other detector so I can't offer any comparisons. The reason I bought mine was that it was in budget for a new machine(to many other interests to invest to much in just one interest)Its a known make and it is made local to me, I do try and support local business. Plus if it goes wrong I can always take it back to the manufacturer I've tried it in the garden and in a rather difficult ditch that runs across the back. It was easy to set up and picked up various bits and pieces. It appears to be well engineered with simple controls. So far no complaints. Hope this helps a bit. vanners My best find - my wife.
