Controversies	• In 2018, Vanitha got into a legal feud with her father over the family property issue. According to her, she had been staying at her mother's house since her mother's death and now her father is asking her to vacate the house. She further added that her father has even stopped her from going to the shoots. Vijaykumar claimed to be the owner of the house and filed a case against Vanitha in Maduravoyal’s local police station for not vacating the house. She later alleged that she and her crew member were badly beaten by the police personnel and thrown out of the house. • In 2017, Vanitha was alleged to kidnap her own daughter, Jaynitha. When Vanitha got divorced from her second husband, the court decided that their daughter, Jaynitha, would stay with her father on the weekdays and with her mother on the weekend. But, in the first week of April 2017, Vanitha did not return her daughter to her ex-husband for the entire week. When she did not return her daughter after the court's deadline, the court gave Jaynitha's full custody to her father. • Vanitha landed into a controversy when she filed a case against her parents and brother for assaulting her when she tried to take back her children to her home. Reportedly, her kids visited their grandparents' house to celebrate Diwali and when she went there to take them back, her father and brother assaulted her.
