As per the Returning Officer, Dhankhar secured 528 votes against Alva's 182. Members of Parliament of both houses voted today to elect the next Vice President of India. While 15 were termed invalid, Opposition candidate Margret Alva received 182 votes in the election," Lok Sabha General Secretary Utpal K Singh said.20:08 (IST) Aug 06

Out of 780 electors comprising elected and nominated members of the Rajya Sabha and elected members of the Lok Sabha, 725 electors cast their votes. Total voter turnout is 92.94%.
