Bat Trang Village is a craft village with the merit of: Bat Trang Pottery. Bat Trang pottery village was formed, existed and developed up to now has many hundreds of history. But there is no really scientific and complete research on the village and pottery profession. One thing is for sure, the pottery profession predates Bat Trang village. The pottery profession was brought to the place by the ancestors of the Bat Trang people where there are 72 white mounds - Bach Tho Ward, opened the furnace, established a village. In the new hometown, the craft and the new village joined together and became famous: Bat Trang pottery.According to oral tradition from many generations ago, after the Ly Thien Do Dynasty went from Hoa Lu to Dai La and changed its name to Thang Long. The king and pottery craftsmen of the villages of Vinh Ninh Trang, Bo Xuyen and Bach Bat (Thanh Hoa-Ninh Binh) were allowed to go to Bach Tho Phuong to open a kiln, establish a village, and produce pottery and bricks for the feudal state. Spent many generations named Bach Tho Ward into Bat Trang.The genealogy of many lineages in Bat Trang also clearly indicates the introduction of handicraft pottery to Bach Tho Phuong. The process of relocating from the old hometown to the new hometown took place for many centuries, most notably in the Tran dynasty at the end of the fourteenth century, Le So and Le Trung Hung. Up to now, in Bat Trang, there are 20 families from the same old countryside, the same profession, and have settled in the new countryside.The architectural works of the village such as Dinh, Temple, Pagoda, Van Chi, reflect the history of the village and the history of craft and the migration from the old hometown to Bat Trang very clearly: at the communal house of Bat Trang village where 44 religions are still preserved. That means bringing the profession from Bo village, building communal house, temple. Bat Trang bricks also exist in the architectural works of the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, Van Mieu Quoc Tu Giam, Dinh, Temple, Pagoda, Temple, Lake, Well of Vietnamese villages in the country. Most are in the imperial city of Hue and the tombs of the Nguyen Dynasty.Along with Bat Trang bricks, Bat Trang pottery is also famous domestically and internationally. Trang Bowl pottery has many styles, types, sizes, and classified according to functions as follows: worshiping objects with incense burner, lampstand, candlestick, incense, wine jar, dog ... Houseware with bowls and dishes , teapots, pots, jars, pots ... Bat Trang pottery is produced by hand on a handcrafted turntable, the style is rattled so the ceramic bone is thick. Later with the technique of printing on wooden molds and pouring into plaster molds. With ancient enamel lines such as blue, brown, characteristic reef and decorative motifs such as flowers, leaves, strings, birds, suitable for each type of product. Bat Trang ancient pottery line is kept and displayed in many domestic and international museums, is collected, owned and very valuable in the market by antiques players.
