Morrisburg Ontario | Howdy. Well after over 15000 hours on each of our White 2-155's, it is time for an upgrade. Think the next tractors will last 30 years? We are looking very seriously at a pair of T7060's both with Terraglide front axles. Wondering if any of you have experience with the tractors that you might like to share. Anyone have any experience with quicksteer...or faststeer or whatever it is called? Worth it? How strong is the pto? We fill a 20*80 silo with high moisture ground ear corn each year. We use a grinder blower to fill it which takes an incredible amount of power to run. Thanks. Warren Here are a few pics of the two whites to give an idea of what the tractors will have to do. As well as these tasks below, one will run a 30ft 1990CCS air drill.

northwest tennessee | Cant answer any of your questions but just want to say the Whites must be good tractors because there has been alot of talk on here about them and I cant remember one bad remark about them.

Morrisburg Ontario | Only complaint I have is about the engines from the factory. We have owned 2 2-155'2 a 2-135 and a 2-105 and all of them blew the engine within 10 hours of 5000 hours. Since then no troubles at all. Now after 17000 on the 2wd the tranny is starting to give trouble but other than that it is a good tractor. Same with the 4wd. Really sad to see them go but really need to upgrade. Warren

Southeast Florida | It’s like this, that’s the same tractor as the Puma CASE-IH. I’ve looked them over real well and they too much resemble a FIAT to me to have a warm cozy feeling about them. If you looking for a New Holland 180 HP PTO tractor I’d get a T8010 or 8020, that’s nothing more than a blue MAGNUM basically which is a 30 year tractor with the hp you’re looking for. Nothing against FIAT’s I just don’t want anymore of them around me. I’ve never been on any of the new NH tractors mainly from poor service in the past but I have had many MAGNUM’s and they’re legendary for their durability. That’s just one mans opinion and it’s your money but I answered the question in my opinion.

Boy, they just don't build 'em like the old Whites anymore, do they? Those tractors had the best transmissions and were just plain tough. The original White (based on Hercules) 478 cubic inch engines had problems with piston ring lands failing between 5000 and 6000 hours. Later versions (such as what was used in the Series 3 model tractors) had an improved piston design that took care of this and OH times were stretched. Just saw a Series 3 2-155 with over 8500 original untouched hours on it about 3 months ago. Most guys around here have been quite impressed with the AGCO tractors, especially the CVT units, for features, reliability, and durability. Don't know a lot about the NHs, but not sure if they're built quite as well as the AGCOs in this class. Probably cheaper, but sometimes you get what you pay for. Thanks for submitting the pictures of the Whites - good solid tractors.

Somewhereville, Earth | nice tractors, your fleet of whites........got any pics of the fiat 640dt tractor clone in the first pic loading the planter? jeez you got it ruff with fiat vege man lol not much fiat in those tractors, the tranny was something ford smoked up and CNH made better, much like the rest of it i used to think magnums were flat out the only tractor to have, then i had the pleasure of repairing a few, not too sure these new ones are 30 year machines........they are a drivers tractor, not a mechanics Edited by pudding 2/18/2008 00:43

Morrisburg Ontario | Oh probably about 50 or so. :D It is a White 2-60. The tractor has over 20000 hours on it now...no joke. The loader has closer to 30000 hours on it. It shows. Ok before I get carried away that is enough I'm sure. :D So nobody owns or will admit to owning a T7060? Sigh...LOL Warren

Somewhereville, Earth | nice, every now and then those crazy italians get it right, when i was a kid i spent time on a fiat640dt, same as what you have there, its still going now, probably done over 10000hours by now easy, i know it has had engine work, it swallowed water when the farmer miss judged a river crossing once........lol.......no fault of its own you know they still build these tractors new in india, all the panel work is available, the indian ones come with a turbo fitted, 85hp at the flywheel they reckon http://www.agripak.com.pk/640s.html usually people don't admit to owning a fiat, lol........most people admit to owning a new holland more pics if ya got em Edited by pudding 2/18/2008 04:30 (SILAGE4 (Small).JPG)Attachments---------------- SILAGE4 (Small).JPG (29KB - 562 downloads)

Near Richmond, IN | I recently bought a NH TG245 after looking at the Case-IH and the NH. They're very similar but I think the NH has some advantages over the C-IH that makes it a better tractor. Especially the supersteer. I even traded in a C-IH on it and I'm thinking of selling another C-IH and getting another NH (just because I'm changing the farm over to no-till and don't need a large 4 wd. anymore)

were the fiat 640 slow on the road, like the rest of the fiats.
|
| |
Somewhereville, Earth | 640 was suppose to do 16mph at pto rpm........but there was lots more throttle lever left after that
|
| |
Morrisburg Ontario | Our 2-60 goes about 18-19mph on the road. But the steering is a bit wonky so going that speed is something of a thrill ride. Warren

Adrian MI | Don't have a T7060, but got a T7040 in January and like it so far after 100 hours, although all we have done with it is haul manure. Don't have any experience with Fast steer or terraglide. PTO seems strong. We have no problems starting fully loaded spreaders up with it. Roads nice and can almost keep up with our TM 190 (rated at 160hp.) The powerboost helps when transporting or using the pto. Will have to see how it does in the field this spring and summer. Morrisburg Ontario | Thankyou very much. Glad you like yours. Does yours have the basic front axle or the supersteer? Any photos? Warren

Adrian MI | Got this one with supersteer, really makes a difference in small fields and manuvering around the farm. Morrisburg Ontario | Thanks so much for those photos. I have a few questions about the cab and how it is for operator comfort. How do you like the layout of the controls? Is everything comfortable? Is the glow of that key pad at night annoying or helpful? I don't know if it is an option or not but the auto-transmission button; if you have it could you please explain how it works? How would you describe the overall fuel economy of the tractor? I realize you haven't really done much in terms of field work with it yet, but if you have enough "data" I would like to hear your opinion on fuel economy. I notice there are no front fenders on yours. Any reason for this? Thanks Warren

Adrian MI | The cab is really nice and controls are well placed. The throttle and transmission controls are attached to the seat, while the remote levers and pto switch are easily reached. I like the cab layout better than the TM's, mainly the remote levers are easier to reach. I don't notice the glow of the keypad, everything is pretty well lit up at night. The auto transmission is pretty simple to use, after you figure it out. When in gears 9-11 hit the button twice(within 1 sec.), now it will automatically shift from gears 9-18. When in gear 12-18, hit the button once, now it will automatically shift from gears 9-18. All you have to do is use the foot or hand throttle. When you brake to slow down or stop, it will shift down for you, and then shift up as you go faster or when pulling a load up a hill it will downshift to get up it and then shift back up when your over the hill. Overall the fuel economy seems to be average. Lately it has been roading 2/3's of the time and it uses quite a bit for that reason. The tractor was sitting on our dealers lot, they brought it down to demo, and we bought it and told them we wanted front fenders for it and we are still waiting for them today. They said they will be in the end of this month. It makes a big difference going down a wet dirt road, all the mud gets thrown up on the front window and makes a mess. Our other 2 TM's have them and would not want one without them. Jason
