Om oss

We create a world where everyone can be an explorer. At Viking we are proud of our long tradition and heritage. With more than 100 years of history we have gained solid knowledge, expertise and craftsmanship in developing high quality and functional shoes. It all dates back to 1920 when our founding father, Peter Mathias Røwde, started making rubber products to combat the harsh Norwegian climate. A few years later Viking boots were used by fishermen, foresters and all kinds of explorers. Since the beginning of time we have pushed through boundaries, discovered new paths and taken steps into unknown territories. Our product range has grown to satisfy more needs, while we still stay true to our founder’s initial idea. Today you’ll find our products on both the highest mountains and in kindergartens. New materials and production methods have allowed us to create footwear that takes you even further. Our shoes are built to last. Quality is essential in everything we do. We aim to be your most trusted friend, and create a world where everyone can be an explorer.

  Exciting news! We are launching our first subscription model for outdoor playsuit rental! 🥳🎉   At Viking, our mission has always been to enable an active outdoor lifestyle. As a step toward making this ambition more accessible and sustainable, we are proud to announce the launch of our pilot program for our first subscription model! We’ve assembled a test panel who will be the first to experience our rental service, choosing between either the Alv or Play playsuit for children. Throughout the trial period, we will collaborate closely with our participants on their evaluation and feedback of the service, enabling us to adapt and improve our platform before its official launch this fall. 📈🚀💡   Leading the project are our very own Product Manager for Direct Channels, Tonje Taraldsvik, and our dedicated and talented intern, Linnéa Olofsson. “We strongly believe this could be a great solution for busy kindergarten parents who want to simplify the process of getting the right and necessary outdoor gear for their children.
