Vikings: Bjorn asks Porunn if she will marry him
One of the main characters in Vikings, which airs on Amazon Prime and History, is king of Kattegat Bjorn Ironside (played by Alexander Ludwig). Throughout the series he has been known to have a number of wives, and is currently married to Ingrid (Lucy Martin). His first wife was Thorrun (Gaia Weiss).
Thorrun appeared in 13 episodes across seasons two and three of Vikings but she suddenly disappeared.
Article continues below ADVERTISEMENTFans have taken to Reddit to find out what happened to her. Fettbaron asked: “I watched every episode asking myself where Thorrun (Bjorn’s first wife) went and if she comes back. Did I miss something?”
Other fans believed she simply got written out of the show but there was no explanation.
In the series her child Siggy is left abandoned and ends up drowning in a stream but her death does not seem to phase her parents.

Vikings season 6: Does Ubbe come back to Kattegat? Will he save Bjorn?
Thorrun is a former servant who worked for Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) and she first sets eyes on Bjorn after spilling beer on him at dinner.
Bjorn then pursues her and asks for her name, but Thorrun is reluctant to talk to him. He asks her where she sleeps and she tells him she lives in a barn.
Bjorn invites Thorrun to spend the night at home with him, telling her it is her choice, rather than an order.
Although she is of lower status to him, Bjorn cannot help but show his affection towards her and they share a kiss before Bjorn sets off for England with Ragnar.

While Bjorn is away Thorrun practices her skills as a fighter and she trains to become a shield maiden as she wants to be like Bjorn’s mother, Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick).
When Bjorn returns there is some tension with their relationship as Thorrun becomes unsure of her feelings towards him.
In season three Thorrun goes to Wessex with Ragnar’s army despite Bjorn worrying about her safety as she may be pregnant.
Later in Wessex Thorrun reveals she is expecting a baby and Bjorn asks her to marry him.

Vikings: Did Lagertha cause the battle with the Rus? Fans have theory
During another battle Thorrun is badly beaten by a Mercian warrior and she is left unconscious, but Bjorn manages to save her.
She is left with a huge gash on the side of her face and starts to worry about her appearance, which sets off deep depression.
She neglects her daughter Siggy after she was born, saying she did not want a child due to what happened to her in battle.
Thorrun feels like a failure as she is not as strong a fighter as Lagertha and her scarred face makes her feel rejected.

Vikings season 6 theories: Ubbe and Torvi to take over Kattegat
The last we see of Thorrun is when she begs for Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland) to look after her child as she feels she cannot be a strong mother.
Aslaug refuses, saying it is her responsibility and reminding her that she is loved by her husband Bjorn.
Thorrun ignores the advice and instead decides to leave Kattegat while Bjorn is away attacking Paris.
There is no mention of where she ended up and her fate is unknown.
She is still considered missing and it is not known whether she will make an appearance in the second half of season 6.
She could have moved on to start a new life away from Kattegat, or on a darker note she could have taken her own life, not being able to stand who she has become.
