Vikings: History tease brand new series in sneak preview
Halfdan Ragnarsson, who does not feature in Vikings, and Ubbe (played by Jordan Patrick Smith) are believed to be the sons of Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland) and Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) but this has never been proven. In the series, Ubbe is portrayed as the first son of Ragnar and Aslaug to be conceived out of wedlock. Ragnar was believed to have many mistresses, so it's highly likely one of those women could be the mother of his sons, Haldfan and Ubbe. In the series Vikings, Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) is the only one of Ragnar’s wives to still be alive.

However, when Ragnar killed the bear and hound, Lagertha accepted him as her husband.
Out of all of Ragnar’s wives in Vikings, Lagertha is the only one to still be alive.
However, in the sixth series, Lagertha faces being killed by one of Ragnar’s sons if the trailers for the final season are anything to go by
Lagertha and Ragnar had two daughters, whose names were unrecorded, and one son, Fridleif.
According to Saxo, when Ragnar returned to Denmark to fight a civil war, he was furious Lagertha had set a hound and bear upon him as he tried to court her.
Ragnar then decided to divorce Lagertha and married his second wife, Thora Borgarhjört (Eve Conolly).

Despite their marriage being over, Lagertha continued to support Ragnar and came to his aid numerous times until his death at some point between 851 and 856.
Also in the series, Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig) is portrayed as Ragnar and Lagertha’s son but this is not the case in real life.
Bjorn was the son of Ragnar’s third wife, Aslaug.
In the TV series Vikings, Aslaug was blamed for the downfall of Ragnar’s marriage to Lagertha but this was not the case in reality – Ragnar had met another woman in Norway.

In Vikings, Thora was portrayed as Hvitserk’s lover, who was sadly killed by Ivar the Boneless (Alex Høgh Andersen).
Ragnar is believed to have won over Thora after killing a giant snake that guarded her home.
Together, Thora and Ragnar had two sons, Erikr and Agnar.
Thora is believed to have died from illness and Erikr and Agnar are thought to have been killed in battle against Eysteinn Beli, an Earl of Sweden.

Aslaug
Following the death of Thora, Ragnar remarried Aslaug, the daughter of Sigurd and Brunhild.
According to the 13th-century saga, The Tale of Ragnar Lothbrok, Ragnar is believed to have come across the princess, who was hiding with a poor peasant couple in Norway.
Upon first meeting Aslaug, Rangar asked to marry her, which she refused until he accomplished his mission in Norway.
Aslaug and Ragnar later married and had five sons together, Ivar the Boneless, Bjorn Ironside, Hvitserk, Marco Ilsø Ragnvald and Sigurd Snake-in-the-Eye (David Lindstrøm).
In the TV series Vikings, Aslaug was killed by Lagertha following the second siege of Kattegat in season five, which did not happen in reality.
Aslaug's cause of death remains unknown to this day.
