Volkswagen Nivus Present in the lives, hearts and garages of Brazilians since 1953, Volkswagen is the largest automobile producer in Brazil, with more than 25,8 million vehicles manufactured, and the largest exporter of Brazilian automotive sector, with more than 4,3 million cars shipped. Volkswagen Brazil offers a complete portfolio of vehicles that stand out for their safety, high technology, design, connectivity and innovation. In Brazil, the company has four plants: Anchieta, in São Bernardo do Campo (São Paulo state), where Nivus, Polo, Virtus and Saveiro are produced; Taubaté (SP), where Tera and Polo takes place; São José dos Pinhais (Paraná state), which manufactures the T-Cross and Virtus, and the engine unit in São Carlos (SP). Volkswagen Brazil also has a Parts and Accessories Center in Vinhedo (SP) and 473 dealerships, covering all Brazilian states. In constant technological evolution, the company permanently invests in sustainable mobility, connectivity and digitalization as strategic topics.

The Volkswagen brand aims to make significant gains in South America with a major product offensive. By 2027, the company plans to grow by 40 percent in Brazil, the region’s largest market. For example, 15 new electric and flex-fuel vehicle models are being launched by 2025 alone. Hybrid vehicles will also follow in the medium term. Before the end of 2023, the company is bringing its first fully electric models to Brazil – the Volkswagen ID.4. and the ID. Buzz. In total, the South American automotive market is expected to grow 11 percent a year until 2030 – making it one of the fastest growing markets in the world. The company is thereby systematically implementing its strategy to rapidly expand its business in growth markets and to intensify sustainable mobility. Despite the continuing challenges of the corona pandemic and the worldwide semiconductor shortage, Volkswagen expects to report a positive result in Latin America for the first time since 2013. Volkswagen is to invest some €1 billion over the next five years to further strengthen its competitive situation in this important market and be geared to sustained profitability. In addition to further local vehicle projects, in particular digitalization and decarbonization in South America are to be given an additional boost.
