Voltron: Legendary Defender season 2 is currently out on Netflix and presumably continuing to elicit strong response from fans. As season 2 continues the rebooted saga of the Voltron lions and their pilots’ battle against the evil Zarkon, plans are reportedly already in place to air season 3.

Den of Geeks reports that Voltron season 3 will premiering in September of 2017. Not only that, but reportedly there will also be ten episodes of classic Voltron airing on Netflix in March, as well as additional content from season 2, which will be released prior to season 3. No word on what that additional content would be – and it must be said that all of this should be taken with a grain of salt, until Netflix confirms it.
Voltron: Legendary Defender is a reboot of the popular 1980s cartoon series, which focused on a group of pilots flying giant mechanical lions defending their planet from evil alien forces. The new series is produced by Dreamworks and is executive produced by Joaquim Dos Santos and Lauren Montgomery, both of which worked on the popular Avatar: Legend of Korra cartoon series.
The voice cast for Voltron: Legendary Defender includes The Walking Dead’s Steven Yuen, Adventure Time’s Jeremy Shada, The Spectacular Spider-Man’s Josh Keaton, and The Killing’s Bex Taylor-Klaus.
Voltron Season 2 is currently on Netflix.
