Below are some frequently asked questions, along with links to download the most recent drivers. Please also note that Steam controller support has also been included in this patch, so we've included some FAQs relating to it below as well.Please be sure to update your drivers to these new versions as they are required for Vulkan: NVIDIA: 368.69 - Download the latest NVDIA drivers: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx . AMD: 16.7.2 - Download the latest AMD drivers: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download FAQ What is Vulkan?Vulkan is a revolutionary graphics and compute API technology developed by the Khronos Group that allows game developers to interact with graphics hardware at a lower level, allowing for more efficient use of hardware, improving game performance. On DOOM, Vulkan allows PC users to experience significant performance boosts on supported GPUs and CPUs, translating directly to better gameplay feel. Most users on the minimum spec end of hardware will experience better performance at higher video settings. Users whose have recommended or above specs will experience exceptional performance with DOOM’s advanced video settings cranked up to full effect. We’ll continue to work with AMD, NVIDIA and the Khronos Group to unlock the Vulkan API’s full potential through idTech 6, giving DOOM PC players a gameplay experience unlike anything else. To play with Vulkan, select the second menu option. You can also switch between OpenGL and Vulkan in game via the Advanced Settings options menu. The game will restart whenever you switch between OpenGL and Vulkan. Does my graphics card support Vulkan?If your graphics card meets the DOOM minimum requirements, it likely supports* Vulkan, but you’ll need the correct version of your GPU drivers in order to take advantage. *Vulkan is not currently supported on NVIDIA GPUs with 2 GB of RAM on Windows 7 or on the GTX 690. Users with these GPUs need to run DOOM on the OpenGL graphics API. Does DOOM automatically have uncapped framerate when running on Vulkan?To enable uncapped framerate, v-sync needs to be disabled via the in-game options. Does DOOM support asynchronous compute when running on the Vulkan API?Asynchronous compute is a feature that provides additional performance gains on top of the baseline id Tech 6 Vulkan feature set.Currently asynchronous compute is only supported on AMD GPUs and requires DOOM Vulkan supported drivers to run. We are working with NVIDIA to enable asynchronous compute in Vulkan on NVIDIA GPUs. We hope to have an update soon.Click here for additional information on asynchronous compute. How do I enable the Steam controller when playing DOOM?Once DOOM is loaded, the title will automatically detect the presence of the Steam controller and adapt controls and button prompts to match. No additional configuration is needed to use the default controller profile. KNOWN ISSUES DOOM crashes as soon as the game starts when running Vulkan on the NVIDIA GTX 690.The NVIDIA GTX 690 is not currently supported to run Vulkan on DOOM. Users with this GPU will need to run the game on OpenGL . DOOM crashes, is stuck on a black screen at launch or exhibits severe graphical corruption on supported NVIDIA GPUs that have 2GB VRAM when running Vulkan on Windows 7.Vulkan is not currently supported on NVIDIA GPUs with 2 GB of RAM on Windows 7. Users with these GPUs need to run DOOM on the OpenGL graphics AP Performance may suddenly decrease when entering Object Mode in the SnapMap editor while running the Vulkan API.If this issue occurs, exiting Object mode back to Blueprint mode, before going back into Object Mode may correct the issue. If the problem persists, we recommend you run the SnapMap editor on OpenGL (you’ll still be able to play your maps on Vulkan). While running the Vulkan API, DOOM crashes when taking a screenshot using the Steam overlay on AMD GPUs.This is a known issue with Vulkan API and AMD GPUs. The game may crash on some AMD GPUs when locking the computer.This is a known issue while running DOOM on the Vulkan API. While running the Vulkan API on an NVIDIA GTX 970, strange black checkering or primarily black screens appear after changing resolution or display mode settings.Graphical corruption may occur after resizing the game window while in windowed mode, and then switching the display mode from windowed to full screen. If this occurs, restarting the game application should correct the issue. Launching SnapMap may take longer on the Vulkan API.It may take longer for some users to launch SnapMap on Vulkan than it does on OpenGL. Some AI pathing issues may exhibit on SnapMaps while running the Vulkan API.We are currently investigating a fix for this to include in an upcoming patch. Windows 10 users running OpenGL or Vulkan on the AMD R9 Fury X znd R9 390X at 1080p or higher may experience framerates below 60 FPS with v-sync enabled.While we are working on a fix for this with AMD, affected users should run the game with v-sync disabled. When using the Steam controller, why can’t I rotate the automap with the right trackpad?This is a known issue with the Steam Controller. 2016年7月18日 4時37分 Just re-installed DOOM because i wanted to try out Vulcan and i have only managed to get the game to load twice out of about 8 attempts, the game will just crash at the B4ethesda logo. The 2 times i have managed to load the game, the game runs at 20-30fps, even though i was ablt to max the game at 1080p/60fps with my 970 before.This Vulcan seems pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ to be honest, just a buggy mess at the minute.Not impressed.EDIT. So yeah i changed back to OPENGL and the framerate is still crap, even the title screen is only running at 28fps, even though i tried the game earlier (before trying Vulcan) and the game ran flawless at 60fps, even the title screen.So i guess my game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ now right?.Vulcan lolEDIT no.2. Yeah Vulcan has definately ♥♥♥♥♥♥ the game up, i'm only getting 30fps even when looking at the sky or the floor. I have turned on triple Buffering, turned it off, tried adaptive Vsync, full vsync, no vsync lol.The game is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and i have no patience to download the game again, especially with the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Steam download speed.Good work devs, good ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ work. 2016年7月22日 4時25分 Vsync doesn't work with Vulkan. I tried all vsync options including forcing it on with driver but it also didn't help me.It always stays about 80-120 fps,can't simply lock it to 60 fps. Why is that ? Anyway to fix it ? No such a problem with opengl #213

2016年7月22日 9時55分 i switched to vulcan and my game wont open now. has anyone had this problem. as soon as i switched it it crashed my game and now it wont even open. i go to play doom and it says running then just says syncing and nothing happens no screen pops up or is black and no crash logs show up. i just wanna kill some ♥♥♥♥in demons lol. my system is as follows.windows 10 pro with a 4.2 ghz cpu and an HD7970(r9 270x) 3gb of video ram. so im more than capable. all drivers are up to date. any help is greatly appreciated #214

2016年7月22日 11時27分 download GPU caps viewer, then run it, if vukan is or isn't installed, this will tell you. 2016年7月24日 5時40分 Can we get some crossfire support while were at it, got an extra 290 just taking up space here with no reason for having 2 of em... I mean really, why do they offer crossfire products when they rarely support it or have any benefit over single gpu. I think i got like 200 games and I can can count on one hand how many are worth a dam for crossfire, the rest...pointless to use it. As it stands today I'll never buy multi gpu ever again, just get a big beast and be done with it. #217

2016年7月31日 0時58分 Resolution scaling sometimes goes wonky on Vulkan, large parts of the screen will be covered by a black box. I have a Sapphire R9 380 2GB.I also had a weird rendering error with the Heavy Machine Gun when I was testing a SnapMap I was making. Parts of the model didn't render and I could see through the gun. Would have taken a screenshot but the whole issue with taking screenshots with AMD and all. #224

Though as mentioned.. the page just hasn't been updated.As I can clearly see Vulkan API version 1.0.11.1 as of the time of this message, installed with the latest graphics drivers from Nvidia, and that version of the Vulkan API has come with several Nvidia graphics card driver versions for a while now.Also to mention, for the reason the Doom 2016 game devs mentioned to download the latest Geforce graphics drivers, to have the latest version of the Vulkan API, so that you get the most compatible, stable and fully supported features.Though as I've mentioned in another comment above, the other thread's info shows that the game developers of Doom 2016 are working with AMD and Nvidia to fix and make the experience better with the Vulkan API implementation into the games engine for the players.Edit: I see what he meant though now, because of testing the demo which released an update with the Vulkan API implementation, and it uses 1.0.8, as of the time of this message.Even know you might have the latest graphics drivers installed from Nvidia, and the game devs tell you to install the latest version for the full support.. for some reason.. you are still going to be using the Vulkan API 1.0.8 version in the game itself.And to find this out.. just simply go to your advanced settings in the game options and set it to show the graphics API being used with the version.Nvidia geforce graphics cards will be using a different version, same with the AMD radeon graphics cards, but the point being that the version for Nvidia graphics cards as of the time of this message, will be an older version of the Vulkan API render in-game, compared to the graphics drivers that come with the Vulkan API.Though.. they will be updating the full version of the game with the Vulkan API, so I'm assuming that the demo will be updated later as well. 最近の変更はcommanderが行いました; 2016年7月29日 7時55分 #216AngelGraves13 の投稿を引用:Doom is using an older Vulkan runtime on Nvidia. It will probably never happen. That is due to the way the engine works, not how CFX works.I don't think anyone has ever debated that a single powerful GPU is better than dual lesser GPUs though, and that will remain the best choice going forwards. #218
